I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia - lived in Boston, Massachusetts as a child, and now back in Canada in Toronto, Ontario.
This is an interesting topic...nice to get a sense of a connection with other PSers...(although I haven''t TOO too many Canadians on here....). This might explain to some of you my ''spelling'' with the letter ''u'' in certain words....you know, that whole British spelling thing. i.e. favoUrite, coloUr. I have to remember to spell things the American way when I do a search or sometimes it won''t come up for me!
Although I never had the pleasure of visiting BC, but I hear its gorgeous.
I need the ocean too. My Michigan days were miserable, as nice as Ann Arbor was.Date: 10/29/2008 8:49:08 PM

Born and raised in Southern California. Home is wherever I can see the ocean. I would love to move other places, I just wouldn''t want to uproot the kids all the time.
I agree, Miranda! I can''t live anywhere that I can''t see/feel/smell the ocean. Luckily, the DH feels the same way.Date: 10/29/2008 8:49:08 PM

I use to live on Whidbey, too. The Northwest is definetly my home, but island life wasn''t for me so I was only there in my teens (and moved off after graduating from High School). . .I''ve lived in and around the Seattle area before and after the island years! We near the city now, but not in it. I cannot say which city is my exact ''home,'' but as long as I can see mt. Rainier, I feel a sense of comfort.Date: 10/29/2008 3:17:32 PM

I also lived on Whidbey Island, WA.

Same. I lived in a waterfront home while living on "the island," and was spoiled by a fabulous view!Date: 10/30/2008 6:45:10 AM

While I live about an hour from the coast now, I can''t imagine living any place where the ocean wasn''t fairly close by (especially the rocky NE coast). It''s comforting to me.
Deception Pass is one of the most beautiful places in the Northwest! I lived on the south end though, so my entire life was controlled by the ferry schedual, and I didn''t have the luxury of crossing over a bridge to get to the "other side." The summers with all the tourists was a nightmare. Sitting in ferry lines for 1 1/2 hours to get home over the weekends was h*ll!Date: 10/29/2008 11:14:11 PM

Oh I know what you mean. I love Pacific Northwest and Seattle is one my favorite cities in the States, but I couldn''t see myself living on Whidbey. I would love to go back and visit. Deception Pass is beautiful!

And it''s okay, I''m about 30 pounds heavier than I was then. Well...sophomore year...maybe not so much.
And you were part of the Brazilian crowd, huh? I knew a few of the girls around my age (Clarissa and Bianca).
This is really too funny. Now I''m curious...
