FE7BB57D-7C5C-4831-BBAF-E8ADE55DDD60.jpeg So the general consensus is that my pair of 9mm blue sapphires need something else.
I really like the earrings setting I bought so now I need a pair of 9mm round something else’s!
Where is a good place to look, I’m thinking something modest priced, Tourmaline, amythest or similar.
Any tips?
Please :wavey:help.

Wow these are gorgeous! Umbalites would be great if you could find a matching pair. Pink Tourmaline should also not be too hard from websites like ajsgem. If you want a quick fix you can do topaz or amethyst but in that case I really suggest doing a fancy cut - concave or checkerboard etc to give it some personality.

Another option is big Green cabochon tsavourites!

Do you have any gaps in your collection, Bron? How are your greens? I think minty “somethings” would be nice in that setting. Pinks will be nice too.

Eta: Also a vote for rhodolite garnets. Very pretty pink-purple and super affordable.

I don't know if it can be done, but I would put moonstone cabs with strong blue sheen in there. If that failed then amethyst cabs. As i feel like both of these would play well with the yellow gold.

How about some bold spessartines?

Yeah, I'd probably go with a saturated pair of 9mm cabochons, almost any color as long as the color is rich enough ...

Are you sure you’ve gone through your collection? Lol.

Does anyone remember the link to the gem silica vendor that came up here a month or so ago? I think it was in something like catchall thread but I really cant remember. I agree with others that a cab would be sensational in that setting.

Wow thank you, they have so many amazing pieces, I will enjoy the window shopping .

Gem window shopping is one of my favorite activities! Etsy is great for it, and I check this particular store often :)

You could contact Doug Menadue and ask him to cut you electric blue or natural blue topaz in your favourite cut design. He is located in Australia.
