I think the star sapphires are really calling me. Where can I find them?

Thanks for the links. What do you look for when shopping for one?

A strong star
A centered star: "legs" of equal length
Purity of sapphire colour
As transparent a sapphire as possible

So this looks pretty good then? Obviously, I could spend lots on one, but I''m going to search for an affordable option. I''ve got 2 more stones coming from Barry beyond that little tourmaline I got and one from Gary coming in the not too distant future. So for now, it''s star sapphire shopping to try and learn and see everything that is out there.

A little grayish but quite pretty looking pink star sapphire.

Is a star ruby more desirable?

Yes it is, but if you like pink, then you can pocket the savings.

That''s me!

The stone is opaque but the star is strong and the colour very vivid too. With a 1 cent reserve, I''d suspect synthetic.

Try Reginald C. Miller, Inc. In NYC... Good company...
