first one is a white scoop neck dress, sideways ruched with a fit to flare skirt:

this one is nice and simple

second is an white eyelet smock dress:

i really like this one, but i have a small chest and feel that all that fabric up top would just make it worse

third is a white racerback tank dress with crocheted skirt:

i love wearing racerbank tanks, but i don''t know if this is appropriate for the event and location

please help!

I like the second one the best. One and three look like they might be really low cut.

Ditto. As long as that second one isn''t very short in real life, then I think it would be the most appropriate.

I have number 1 and 2 and number two is made of stiffer cotton that wrinkles very easily. Also it''s not very structured, so if you have any type of "pooch" (like me), you will look pregnant (like I did!).

Number 1 and 3 probably are a little lower cut than most, but I''ve never had a problem and the straps are very easy to take up to bring the scoopneck up.

oh thank you very much for your replies. seems like #2 is the better option for my shower. during the weekend, i found this gorgeous calvin klein dress on sale, but it didn''t fit me. somehow this VS dress seems so plain next to it. are brides supposed to dress extremely well for their showers? or will this white eyelet dress do?

Personally, I glammed up...and mine was an afternoon tea as well. The only thing ''casual'' was that I wore a tea LENGTH dress. The dress I got was actually a BM dress (but bought off of ebay, so waaay cheaper). I decided that I wanted to be ''the belle of the ball'' as many times as possible throughout my wedding events. :)

That said, I have to admit that, to me, all of the choices just seem far too casual/sexy for a tea. I would think you''d have better luck with 2 separates that really compliment each other...and I''m sure you''ll have a TON more options, too!

Personally, I really like the 2nd one, it''s adorably cute, a little flirty, but not in-your-face sexy. I guess how formal depends on your own area. Where I live the 2nd one would be perfectly fine.

I agree with some others that #2 is the most appropriate, but it does look like it could be really short which may not be the best look for a fancy tea.

Check out Ann Taylor (the website or a store). They generally have a lot of cute but sophiticated dresses on sale this time of year (make sure you go to the "sale" tab on the website) that would probably be more appropritae for a ladies'' tea.

Good luck finding a dress!

hmm... i will continue my search, my mom says this only happens once, so i should find something really nice, i still have a few weeks, so i''ll see how it goes, thank you for your responses
