Which looks bigger?

Hi everyone! i am a long time lurker on PS and am slowly slowly building my knoweldge about diamonds, clarity, color, depth, etc....so excuse me if this question is really silly!!

I noticed from the various rings that you own that certain ''shapes'' look larger than other shapes especially with the same carat weight. for instance i notice that pear shape diamonds appear bigger than an identical carat weight rock in a different shape (i.e. princess)..

in ur expert opinion, which shape will give u the largest ''look'' when compared with carat weight? for example; a 1 ct stone would look bigger on a pear shape, or RB or emerald, etc?

A marquise will look largest. Out of the shapes you mentioned, I would say the pear would appear to be largest.
