OK, I''ve narrowed a rock selection down to two choices. They are both ideal cuts. The first is a .91 ct H SI2. The second is a .92 ct H SI1. I''ve been told both are totally eye clean and face up very well.

The fact that the second is slightly bigger (~6.3 diameter vs ~6.2 diameter) and has a higher clarity and HCA rating makes me think the second is the right choice. I basically just wanted to confirm that and make sure I''m not overlooking anything.

The links have the GIA reports, ASET photos, magnified image, and Idealscope (for the second one only). Let me know what you think!

Ya, 0.92 looks better to me too.

Actually you could ask Barry or Judah for an Idealscope image for the first one if you wanted to investigate further, the ASET looks fine. If you prefer the second then no problem, but you could certainly find out more on the first if you were so inclined.

Would you say the second looks about as good as you are going to get though (the idealscope)?

Its a good image, not the best I have seen but certainly no slouch! I don't see any detrimental leakage which is the most important issue. The diamond has slightly longer lower girdle facets which you can see as thinner arrows in the IS image, some like the looks of these, others prefer ' fatter arrows' as you can notice a difference with performance when the diamond ' sparkles' but this can be a matter of taste - but more important is to evaluate the diamond as a whole on its complete physical and desirable visual properties.
