I'm the odd man out and prefer the ruby - I like the simplicity and classic look of a three stone and the sapphires are a bit dark for my taste. But personal preference and all that - YMMV.

I also prefer the ruby - the color pops and I like that.

If I'm going to have a colored stone, I want the color to shine. It's very much personal preference, but the dark blue/inky sapphires just don't grab my attention the same way as the ruby.

Since you asked, I’m team ruby. I pick colored stones for the color, and I prefer a pinkish ruby to an inky sapphire.

They're such different styles, to me it's simplicity/casual (ruby), versus blingy/dressy (sapphire). I'd go ruby for that reason, couldn't see myself wearing dressy a lot more than the casual.
