I finally got some pictures of the last motorcycle trip I did through the last week of Bluebonnets in Brenham TX. I told Ann I would post some as soon as I got them, so here they are!

Me trying to stay warm. Long underwear, jeans, chaps, TWO pairs of socks, THREE shirts, my jacket with a full liner, gloves, and I look like a rolley polley! lol.

So we get back on the road.. and here I am acting silly at a traffic light.

We didn''t make it in time for our last stop, so we had to catch an early supper at this mexican restaurant off 105 and hwy 6. No one was happy! I don''t blame them, the food stunk.

I wasn''t sure if I was able to go, so I didn''t order my shirt... so I took this picture.

Here''s a picture of my motorcycle. This was taken on a trip to Fredericksburg, TX.
It took me 3 days and nights of NO sleep to paint it on time for this particular trip last year.
I won the first place trophy for best paint :D

Anyway guys, Sorry for the long post of pictures, and I hope you enjoy them!

What great pics! I am also so impressed by your artistic talent with your bike painting!! What a fun day you must have had, thanks for sharing it with us.

Fabulous!! I had the biggest smile on my face reading your post.

It''s obvious how much fun you guys were having. Love your bike! Great paint job... Just be careful out there!

HOW FUN!!!! Love all the pictures, curio, thanks for sharing!

curio,

Great pictures! Looks like you gals had a fun trip! I absolutely love the paint job on your motorcycle. Very cool!! What kind of motorcycle do you have?

I must get one of those t-shirts... love it!! I''ve been racing cars (er.. well.. a car) for the past 10 years. Would be pretty funny to wear that under my racing suit, or perhaps a decal with that saying on the back bumper. That would stir up some trouble on the track! ;)

Nice to see a fellow girl-gearhead on PS! Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Great pictures. Looks like you ladies had a lot of fun. Love your bike, great job painting it.

Linda

Wow, cool pics! I love girl trips!!! So much fun w/o the men sometimes. heeheee

OMG these pix are awsome! You are so lucky. I would love to travel on a bike cross country. My husband and I talk about that as one of our secret dreams.

With four boys, we don''t want them to know we like bikes. (strange I know)

Looks like SSSOOOO much fun!!

what a great photo series!!!! I love it!!! You''re such a beautiful woman curio :) And an amazing artist!

Oh how fun curio!!! Looks like you girls had a blast!!! Love your bike, and those pics are awesome!!!

Rock on, ladies, rock on...

Thanks for the comments guys!

Portia,

I have a Honda VTX 1300. It''s so awesome you race cars! A "You just got passed by a GIRL!" bumper sticker would be hilarious!

I get like CRAZY double-takes while I''m riding. If I''m wearing my half helmet and let my hair hang out the back, and if I wear cute jeans and boots, evvverrryone stares. Kids love it; I always throttle up and rev my engine for ''em. They think it''s cool.

About the shirt, one of the gals from our group set up a cafepress account so we could all get our shirts mailed to us before the event. Here''s the link: http://www.cafepress.com/marigoldsplace.114246809

If you google "You just got passed by a girl" you''ll hit a bunch of sites with those shirts, stickers, and all sorts of other things.

Eva17,

The trips are great. So far my FF and I have traveled through Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri,Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Louisianna. The trips really bring us closer together. You could always get a bike and travel together, almost all of our friends that ride have kids, and the kids love the bikes! I know my priorities will change when I have children, and we''ll travel less because of the risks involved.. so we''re getting it all out of the way :)

Oh my gosh, those are great! I''ve been waiting for you to post ''em.
Love your bike - can''t wait to show hubby what you ride. So cool.

So what was the gasp like when you girls roared into Martha''s ?!!
I bet that was a sight. Was the food any good? What restaurant were you at
at 6 and 105? There''s gas stations on both sides, maybe one of them has a restaurant,
I''ve never stopped at either.

Love those t-shirts. I have always thought I could tell if the bike rider was female or male by the way they sat on the bike - what do you think of that? Crazy I know.
Ya''ll look like you were having so much fun.

BTW - loved your sketches you did in another post. You are talented girl.

We didn't get to go to Martha's!! I was sooo dissapointed. We ended up getting lost, and Martha's closed their kitchens at 3, and only served pie 'till 4. We would have made it in time for dessert, but it was so late and there were two ladies in the group who were diabetic so pie was just out of the question. I think we'll end up taking another ride up there sometime in the summer...

We had some mishaps too on the trip. One of the girls got her sleeve caught in a throttle rocker, this little peice of plastic that hooks onto the grip that you can rest your palm on to keep your hands from getting tired. She had never used it before, and it was given to her right after breakfast. Anyway, instead of slowing down when we were u-turning, her sleeve caught and forced her to rev up, and she clipped the saddle bag of the girl infront of her. The saddle bag busted open, flew up in the air and all over the shoulder of the freeway. No one went down, she actually RODE down into the grass ditch in the middle of the freeway, and UP the side onto the other side of the freeway. She was able to turn the bike in the grass so she was facing the correct way on 105. It was unbelievable. The girl who had the damaged saddle bag just quickly cleaned her stuff up off the road, got a bungee net out of her other bag, and tied the damaged bag on her rear fender. She didn't damage anything else on her bike! No turn signals, nothing! She even said that her DOG had chewed and ripped open her saddle bag, and that this was the excuse to get some new ones. It was sooo amazing. LoL, I think we all checked our pants when we pulled over. THEN a few miles later... the girl who ran down the ditch, ran out of gas. We were 1 mile from the gas station! So we had a couple of the other ladies take her some gas. That kinda killed our time, so we decided to just find a place nearby to eat.

It's not a motorcycle trip unless you have at least ONE mishap.

I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but I think it was the only Mexican place around.

Holy cow! You are lucky you all are safe. 105 is a dangerous road, I dread it. So many drivers want to pass and the road is not clearly marked. It never fails that I get behind a school bus or a slow car and I want to pass, but after seeing multiple wrecks on that road, I''m leary of passing (and I drive a Vette!) Thanks for posting the pictures. In one of them, it looks like there is a man in the background checking all you girls out!

I know, it was totally insane. We only had to get on 105 for a few miles to make our exit, but STILL. That road IS crazy..

I ended up taking hwy 6 to the beltway to make it back home, and hwy 6 freaked me out too. People just speed like crazy. Not as bad as 610 though. sheesh.

curio, you look totally badass on your bike! That''s awesome that you''re a motorcycle rider! And the paint job is too cool.

I would love to be in an all girl bike gang, but I''m definitely too much of a paranoid sissy for a motorcycle. I''ve actually wanted a vintage Vespa for a while but I haven''t gotten around to buying one yet...

Anyways, your pics are great and it looks like you had a lot of fun!

Beautiful pictures - love your bikes. One of my friends has gotten into riding and bought a Harley 2 years ago...she loves to ride. Those shirts your friends were wearing are fabulous!!!
