Who wants to see my haul from today?

OMG @stracci2000, thank God they didn't get the locks cut off! I guess it's that time of year. At least they didn't get anything and I don't blame you for taking out the gold, you could always sell it on Etsy :mrgreen2:

The neighbor that had the hip surgery texted me today to say there was a car driving slowly down our street looking for packages  Luckily I don't have any jewelry in the mail but DH gets brand new IPhones delivered for work so I hope they don't come back!

I love your Cole Haan and what a steal, such a pretty color blue.

I love it! It looks like the same width of the beautiful band I have that gets lost in my stack. It’s so petty though..I would do as @stracci2000 said and wear it for a while and enjoy it..You’ll know eventually if you want to sell it.
That was supposed to say it was so PRETTY..not petty..:roll

Good Evening Vintage lovers,

Flea market today, now I have lots of ornaments to unload before Christmas!

1st pic Everything I bought for $60
2nd pic Franklin Mint egg necklace from 1979
And silver tone Bugs Bunny pin
3rd pic. Popeye pin and handpainted Mickey pin
4th and 5th Uncas Sterling ring with Chinese symbols makes a great thumb ring! Paid $3
6th King Koin bank, put a quarter on the front and the gorilla comes out and snatches it! Grea fun.

Oh, if you look in front of Santa Sylvester cat, those are Legoland minifigures from 1975-76. They have no faces and are the first minifigures released.

If you found some treasures this weekend feel free to share, jewelry or otherwise :D

Oh, fun stuff!
I like the King Koin bank and of course the ring!
And what about that squirrel? Is he a metal bank?

No, the squirrel is actually a nutcracker! He is a little whacked out looking but I thought a squirrel nutcracker was pretty darn cute. He was $5 and the bank was also $5

You find anything this weekend?

See you have a super cute squirrel though, mine looks deranged, like he is caught in car headlights or something :lol-2:

Well, I looked in the paper and there were a few estate sales, but they were farther than I wanted to travel. But one was literally on the next block from our house, so we went to that one. We walked in and there was a china cabinet for $10.
It was a little scratched up, and missing one glass shelf. But it was $10! I could not walk away from a $10 china cabinet.

So we will be dragging it down to the antique mall, to display more items. The display case I have now is tall and skinny, and the shelves are not very wide. I am always struggling to add items in there because of the limited space.
So this china cabinet will be a much needed addition.
And we will put a big lock on it!
It's in my garage right now.

Mine doesn’t look normal either! That’s the way squirrels look when they’re hunting for acorns!

@Stracci, $10 for a china cabinet?! Go you! Looks like a good size to fit lots of goodies in and yes lock it up because people are desperate this time of year.

I went to some sales today and found a few things worth noting.
This is a carved green stone teapot. I'm sure that it's not jade. Maybe some type of green marble. It's 7 inches long. I love Asian decor, so I'll keep it. $3.99, Goodwill.

And I found some diamond stud earrings at an estate sale!
These are 14k, with the Stuller mark. Full cut diamonds, very clean and sparkly, I cannot spot any inclusions with my loupe.
My guess is about .20 total weight. A good deal for $18.00!

Those earrings weren’t a “good deal” - they were a steal! And lovely, to boot!

Oh no, I've found the thread of like-minded antique shopping bargain hunters... those earrings are STUNNING! I sold off a bunch of old costume jewelry (mostly, some sterling) I was done with today and made a pretty penny. Of course, now that just means I'll be out hunting for more. Looking at these photos makes me think I should make an effort to go to more estate sales...

@paperunicorn, keep checking back here! Every weekend a bunch of us post interesting things that we find when we are out and about!
I have a booth in an antique mall, so I am constantly searching for vintage items to add. And of course, I find lots of great things that I cannot part with, as well!

Good Saturday Evening Everyone!

@stracci2000, Omg the earrings!! Love! What a steal, are you going to keep them? You know if I had found those I might just get my ears pierced! Also that teapot is so great, Goodwill can be tricky but sometimes you find something good.

It's been crazy busy here, my store is insane (not complaining) and I think we are getting sick (DH and I) so my trip to Goodwill yesterday is probably it. I did however find this great Max Factor compact, granted I paid $12.00 but I just couldn't leave it behind. I also found some Royal Doulton Bunnykins bone china.

Love that compact. Didn't you find a similar square one recently? So elegant!
The estate sale lady had tested the diamonds, and she assured me they were genuine. I didn't know they were Stuller till I got home. Honestly, they aren't my style, but the more I look at them, the more I like them. They were super grungy, till I cleaned them.
They were priced at $25, but it was the second day of the sale, so they were 25% off, so $18.

@stracci2000, good memory! I did have another compact I bought from the indoor flea market but I sold it already! The woman who bought it left me a really nice review about how excited she was to have it and how nicely it was packaged, warmed my heart.

Those earrings are super sweet, maybe clean them up and wear them for Christmas if you celebrate. Wearing my bling is the only thing that keeps me sane with DH's family on Christmas since they don't allow wine.

So my new conquest is finding a vintage music box (or jewelry box or powder holder, compact etc) that plays "La Vie En Rose". Sounds easy but not so much. I did find a musical goldstone poodle charm that plays it but they want $100, also found a vintage musical lighter but a musical lighter? I'll pass. My only other possibility was a musical doll but something about a doll playing music is a little creepy to me.

We shall see, it will probably take me a while to find it but I've put the wish out to the universe.....

In other news I have lost my three row diamond ring that I bought earlier this year, I have torn the house apart and nothing, it has to be here somewhere so wish me luck to find it!

Haha, yes I do celebrate, a little!
I'm tempted to solder those earrings together and make a waterfall-like pendant. But then I hate to change a perfectly good pair of earrings.
Maybe I will wear them after all..........

No way! This is not good news!
It must be in the house somewhere. Maybe your new crazy kitty batted it under the bed or something.

@stracci2000, when I tell you I have looked and looked it's no exaggeration, I have no idea where it went but wherever it is it's in a grey ring box. Hopefully it turns up! I wouldn't doubt Dexter might have something to do with it, I just caught him in the kitchen sink licking a bowl, naughty cat!

It's funny how things go missing.
I once stashed away a tanzanite necklace just before heading out the door for a vacation. Upon returning, I forgot where I put it. 10 years later, I still have not found that necklace.

Have you finally gotten to the point that it doesn't make you insane not knowing where it is? It's a very unsettling feeling.

I lost my son's IPad mini a few years ago, was afraid it had been donated or thrown out by accident, no it was behind our bed for an entire year! May that be a lesson to vacuum behind the bed more often lol! DH lost his wedding band and found that under the bed after a few months (fell off at night) but looking for it was driving him mad. We were burgled years ago so I have a tendency to put things in strange places but apparently the memory isn't so good for that now!

It actually still bugs me that I never found that necklace.
Have you thought that maybe it (the ring box) dropped into a lower drawer?
Behind the drapes? Bottom of the closet?
Sometimes gravity is the culprit.

I found it!!!!!!!!

You guys won't believe where it was. I was taking some pictures outside of one of my bands to sell probably a month ago and I had taken a ring box out for the picture. Well apparently it never made its way back inside, either that or one of the dogs got a hold of it and left it on the deck. It has been outside all this time. The ring is of course totally fine but I'm trying to salvage the ring box because it is from G.Fox which was a Hartford based company not in business anymore, I'm from Hartford so that's the importance there.

But look look look! Ahhhhhhh so excited

That's fantastic! I'm always helping my husband locate his wallet and/or keys. I found them both in one of his shoes of all places. Now whenever something is lost, I yell "Check your shoes!"

I remember G. Fox. It was a great store. I used to shop there all the time. Brings back a lot of good memories!

LOLOL!! Outside? Who da thunk it?
Yeah, yeah, blame the dogs..........:mrgreen2::lol-2::P2

I'm glad you found it....We wouldn't want Mr. Squirrel to be surprising
Mrs. Squirrel with diamonds this year!

@natasha-cupcake that's is too funny "check your shoes":lol-2: what is it about guys putting their wallet and keys in their shoes? If I'm pulling my wallet out the last thing I want it to smell like is feet!

Yay to someone who remembers G.Fox! I actually had a shoooing back of theirs for years, you know the maroon background with the white polka dots? I found the ring box at the flea market and I was willing to pay for it but the woman told me to just take it! She probably thought I was a nut.

@stracci2000 we are not hugely religious but DH asked me this morning if I prayed for it, he was astonished to come home from the movies and hear I found it and believed me even less when I told him where.
