Who wants to see my haul from today?

I'm glad! I keep trying to promote silver as much as I can on PS.
The jewelry world is huge, and gold is not the only game in town!

i know you do ! =)2
keep it up

alas sometimes silver is looked down upon as the ugly sister around these here parts but you go back in time and a lot of those royal tiaras are made of silver (and they sparkle like crazy in candlelight )

I stopped into a pawn shop and snagged a nice pair of 7.5mm akoya studs.
Like I need another pair of pearl studso_O
They have 14k yellow mountings.
The photos don't do them justice, they are much prettier in person.

I like to consider myself like a search and rescue person, now if only I got paid for this!

This one was sold to me as moissanite, (there is no way) but I’m getting a couple of appraisals done on Wednesday (as I’m trying to get my ring collection down to a more manageable number) so I’ll bring this along for a look. It is 14k with three OEC diamonds 4mm and two 3mm surrounded by rubies and rose cut diamonds on the shoulders. The outer bezel is in rough shape in a few places and there is one smashed ruby as a result.

The diamonds are crazy sparkly and I’m thinking maybe this is why the seller thought it was moissanite. Well, I was not sure if I was going to keep this one but for now at least it’s another pinky ring to add to the collection.

I kinda hope you do, because I really love the wonkiness and the ridiculously puffy crowns.

@ItsMainelyYou, I love pieces that are a little imperfect, that you can clearly see someone wore and treasured. None of the rubies are loose so that’s a bonus and I am very careful with all of my rings so its looking like a permanent addition :D

Utterly stunning! I normally just lurk but I can't not say something it's amazing and you should let it come live with your old amethyst bow ring with me!

Hey!

So glad you are enjoying the bow ring! Also thanks so much for your sweet comments, keep an eye on LT because I’m always cleaning house to make room for new sparklies!

Thanks! I will! I have even added another bow to my collection since then. Honestly, you have a stunning ring! Be sure to pass on what your jeweler says about it tomorrow. I'm dying to know what they say. You really have great taste!

STUNNING! Those crowns! The rubies!! Love it

@clairebc, thanks so much, I do love those chinky profiles too!

Today is appraisal day!

Just as I thought, the ring is diamonds and rubies, the appraiser said the shank is probably newer but the rest of it dates to the 1890’s

So that’s a win!

Right? She was saying what a nice ring it is even despite the wear it has. I mean, for late 1800’s it’s in pretty good shape considering it was obviously worn so much they had to replace the shank.

Faux pearls - very nicely done - on gold wire (not sure if actual gold or just something else… they couldn’t tell. Also if it is vintage or not. It‘s sich a nice summer piece and it makes me happy to look at it. Sometimes it‘s the small things!

Pretty! This bracelet goes with everything!
I just love a cuff style bracelet.

oh that is so pretty
great find

A few recent finds.
This dragonfly ring was made by Navajo artist Gary Custer. Found at a local pawn shop.
It is made by a process called tufa casting.
Tufa is a soft stone. A carving is made into it like a mold. Then molten silver is poured in. The final piece has this grainy texture. This process is sometimes called sand casting.
Anyway, I love it, and now I need more tufa cast jewelry!

This is an unsigned McCoy vase from the 1930s. It's about 8 inches tall.

And today I found this beautiful platter.
A thrilling find!
15 inches wide.
It's English Staffordshire pottery dating 1863-1872. The pattern is Corinthian.

Love it all, but especially the Corinthian platter! Our everyday dinnerware is a mishmash of blue-on-white patterns of various vintages: Blue Willow, Liberty Blue, Currier and Ives, Old Staffordshire, Blue Chintz, etc. Now that I know it exists, I’ll have to keep an eye out for Corinthian pieces!

I adore blue and white pottery, also. The older the better!
When I saw this platter, I knew right away that it was very old based on the squarish shape. When I flipped it over and saw the style of the backstamp, I knew it was mine! Corinthian is the pattern name. The maker is Hancock Whittingham &Co.
I had to look that up when I got home.
I gladly gave $8 for it!

Here's a pretty antique jewelry box from the thrift store.
Made by Derby Silver Co. They operated in CT, from 1877-1898
It is silverplate, and really dark. I don't think I'll polish it, 'cause I don't want to remove all that patina.
Check out the original pale green satin lining!

Oh look, a trinket from my neck of the woods @stracci2000. The interior lining is in amazing condition!

Celebrating 100 pages of the "haul" thread!

This is not antique or vintage. But it is a haul.
Yesterday DH and I attended the 101st Annual Indian Market in Santa Fe.
Such a big and prestigious show, filled with Native American art of all kinds.
Heavy on the jewelry, of course!!
The jewelry was world class, and priced accordingly.
However, I managed to snag this beautiful bracelet. Solid sterling, hand forged and stamped. Purchased from the artist, Lyle Secatero (Navajo)
