Who wants to see my haul from today?

Today's find was a one carat amazing aquamarine in this 14k antique tower setting. :kiss2:

Nice find! I love the profile details. Pretty stone too. I just recently caught the aqua bug, never saw the appeal til I had one in my hands.

Thanks @CHRISTY-DANIELLE, I've really wanted a tower setting and we were married in March so it kind of worked out! I was debating between this one and one I found on Etsy that FCP diamonds has, it looks like a cushion cut set east west. It seems to be harder to find aqua set that way.

 funny you say that, I have an EW aqua oval in the works....great minds

This is a super beautiful ring! It matches my avatar's gown!

(The Princess de Broglie, by Ingres, 1851-53)

It does @stracci2000 maybe an aqua ring would make her happier she lol!

The only hesitation I had about this ring is the shank on the back is very very thin but it will not be an everyday ring and the shop owner said if it breaks bring it back to her and she will fix it :eek2: Well let's hope that doesn't happen anytime soon. Ironically the shank on the bow ring is also very thin, I guess par for the course with old old rings that were very loved!

Do you like it with the gold band (in SOTD pics)? I really don't know what to wear with it since it has such a delicate look.

I found a few things at my favorite thrift shop.
This inlaid Italian table was only $10.00, how could I resist? It needed a little wiping but otherwise in great shape!
IMG_20190808_164322098.jpg IMG_20190808_164408278.jpg
Also an interesting Japanese Kutani ware triangular shaped something. I have no idea what it was used for, but it is all hand painted.
And a Villeroy and Boch vase, 1921-31.
The dish is Johnson Bros. English transferware.

Also, a Majolica covered bowl made in Portugal.

You guys will not believe what I found today at one of the seediest pawn shops I've been to. Disclosure this is not really a haul since I didn't buy it but had to share this adorable rose cut diamond ring, just look at it! :kiss2:

Price is $500 best price they gave me was $450, I just had to ask even though I went with no cash on me (totally on purpose to keep me honest!)

How big do you think it is? The size on this has to be maybe a 4-5, this is on my pinky.

@stracci2000 I LOVE your recent finds, the I laid table is gorgeous as are the other pieces. Can't beat that price either.

Nice! It looks like a Georgian period stone set into a 1900-1910 setting. Maybe .40-.50? It looks like a clear stone.

I bet the Devil was whispering in your ear............"Stephanieeeeeeee, $450 isn't much at all! Heck, you don't need groceries or electricity.....you can always sell your plasma..........hee heee heee...."

And, geez, why don't you carry calipers in your purse? We could estimate carat weight.:lol:

Okay I wasn't far off, I was thinking Georgian myself and yes it is calling me but circumstances tomorrow are such that it is going to be like parting the sea to get back there, I am considering it though.

I don't carry calipers because I don't want to look too informed, I feel like once you whip out the loupe and the calipers then they know you know your stuff and then they might peg me for a reseller and not knock off the $100 I want them to!

Okay folks in about an hour I'm going to Uber to the pawn shop and see about that ring, hopefully I'll be back to share some real pics later

This stuff is right under our noses, we just have to get serious and look for it.

True the stuff is out there, two things you need to find it, money and effort. I am totally out of both!

Do you go to the pawn shops anymore to try to find some old cuts or did you have to put the kebosh on that before you got too carried away with it @Stracci?

I went into a pawn shop today. Lots of decent diamonds, but they didn't have any old cuts.
The prices were ok, though. If I was a guy looking to buy an engagement ring, I'd canvass all the pawn shops. The prices are so much better than retail.

But I went there for entertainment purposes only. They cut my hours at work, so I can't afford to be spending on bling right now.
I have to keep looking at my stash, reminding myself that I have lots of nice stuff, and I don't need to be spending on more. I'm worried that I might see something that I can't live without, and then I'll have a tough decision to make.

Yeah I don't see a lot of old cuts most of the time either. There is one place I went to recently that had a vintage Jabel tri color engagement ring in the scrap bag  Nobody is buying the old stuff so it gets scrapped, so sad.

So sorry your work hours got cut! Granted I have bought a lot recently but I finally sold the spinel ring I had so that covered a majority of it but now the jar is empty.

I always hope that you will find your dream diamond at a pawn shop, it's going to happen one of these days.

I have a mini haul from over the weekend. Drove across the bridge to visit an estate liquidation showroom that is open 3 days each month for shoppers. Most of the place was filled with furniture, but I did manage to get some sparklies!

A vintage Trifari rhinestone bracelet. My wild guess is maybe it's from 1930s-50s? If it holds up, I'll be wearing it for my wedding this year.

The Dalmation brooch is Swarovski, it immediately caught my eye and I was excited to recognize their swan hallmark on the back. Set me back $18, but worth it. The red jelly earrings (lucite?) are Alexis Bittar. They were only $4! And the last brooch is a mystery. There's a signature on the back, but it's hard to make out. It seems to be coated with resin.

I did not end up buying this one, but it definitely spoke to me! Seller said it was a victorian era pendant, 14k gold with seed pearls.

This clock was really nice, very, very old. I dont have much info on it, but if it wasn't $250, I probably would've brought it home!

Nice finds! The clock is really nice. Years ago I knew someone who had a similar one, I think it was made of slate.

That Dalmatian is adorable @Rubymal!

I was in a little thrift store today sifting through two big baskets of costume jewelry.
This little guy swam to the top of the pile and said "take me home!"
14k angelfish pin/pendant with blue topaz and peridot.
A steal at $2.00!

I can't wait to wear it tomorrow!
Funny, I was admiring a bee pin in a pawn shop a few days ago priced at $140.00.
Who knew I would find a fish for 2.00?

The price....awesome! Makes the jewel even sweeter! I love fun jewelry...butterflies, fishies. turtles, dolphins...really want diamond seashell jewelry:love:

Aw, sweet little fish! Even sweeter at $2, that is really a find, see that's what gets me excited is finding real gold and gemstones for less than the price of a coffee @stracci2000!
