I just finished my last final for my first year of law school, and now I finally have time, starting tomorrow, to start working with all those ideas that have been distracting me whilst trying to learn civil procedure, con law, and the like.

So my first step is an attempt to find the dress that is my current obesseion: Maggie Sotterro "Mia Lynette"

There is a shot of the front and the back.

So I was curious, have any of you seen this gown or tried it on? Even better, any of you seen in in LA or OC? I''m planning on calling all the local stores in the next few days and seeing if anyone has it. I''ve only talked to one salon so far (Jaquelines in Santa Ana - and only b/c they are three blocks away) and they didn''t have it. I''ve got the list from the website of all the authorized dealers, but if anyone who''s been shopping for Maggie in SoCal and knows where they''ve got a good selection, could you give me a heads up?

The only dresses I''ve tried on so far were from David''s bridal, but I didn''t find any that were the right style, and the cut was bad. I really want to try on lots of different dresses to see what I like and what looks best, but this is the one that I fell in love with in the pictures, so I don''t think I could decide on any dress until I have tried this one!! I have plenty of time, the wedding isn''t until next summer (probably July) but I want to find soemthing this summer so I don''t have to worry about it during the school year.

So what do you think of the dress? Any tips on where to look?

not sure why the back didn''t post... second try:

Ocbride2007: I think the dress you posted is stunning from the front! I''m not so crazy about the offbeat back, but that''s jmo. I absolutely love the plunging neckline and waistline from the front, but my problem is that from the back while you are walking down the aisle or standing with your back to your guests while at the alter (or wherever), it may look as though the dress has been pulled to one side or off-center, you know? Other than that, it looks gorgeous on the model, and I hope you are able to find it and try it on! Keep us updated with your search, please! (Congrats on your engagement and welcome to PS, also!)

LOVE the dress!!

I just have one question though. This is from my personal experience with trying dresses on...

Are you busty at all?? The reason why I''m asking is because I tried on a dress with a plunging neckline like the dress you posted and I''m a 34D. The dress really made my chest stand out. I''m not sure if you''re ok with that, but I didn''t feel comfortable knowing that all my guests'' eyes would be going straight to my chest as I''m walking down the aisle. Just something to consider...

Post some pics if you find it and try it on!

that''s a good point... but I am a comfortable 34 A/B and probably wouldn''t even need a bra at all!! Sometimes it is nice to be small ;) Actually it is the halter that I like the most, I''m always drawn to them. When I find it in a salon, I will try to get a picture, but when I have shopped with other brides, it seems like a lot of them don''t let you take pictures... I''ll have to sneak one in at some point.

OOOOH! that''s soooooo pretty!!!

I totally agree that sometimes its nice to be small. I used to be a B until I turned 21 or 22. It was like puberty hit me late. I would prefer to be back to my old size and I'm looking into someday getting a reduction, but my honey keeps telling me that he won't marry me if I do it (jokingly). I think that dress would look breathtaking on you! I can't wait to see pics!!

congrats on finishing your exams!!

the dress looks gorgeous, you must report back to us when you find it... sorry I''m of no help there!

I called around today and found a place that carries it!! I made an appointment for tomorrow. If they let me take pics I''ll post them. If they don''t let me, well, I''ll find a way to sneak some in the dressing room

So I tried it on today, and I loved it!!! I''m not sure if I even want to waste my time trying on other dresses, when I was there she brought in a few others and I didn''t even bother to try them on, because they looked so dull compared to the one I had on!! The dress I tried on was diamond white with a caramel ribbon. I''m want the pink ribbon, which only comes in diamond white, but I think I will order the plain white (which comes with a white ribbon) then have the seamstress add a ribbon that matches the color of the bridesmaid dresses exactly (which I haven''t started looking for yet...). I don''t think that will be much of a problem. And the sample size fit pretty well other than the top , but once the straps are shortened it shouldn''t be a problem. Now that I see the pictures I realize I need to start working on my arms, lol, but other than that it looks great. And I even think it is long enough if I wear lower heels!!

I''m thinking a fingertip veil for the ceremony... my hair will be down.

Ooh... and the best part... the price!!! I was so in love with this gown I would have paid $1400 for it, but it was only $640, and they are having a trunk show in a couple of months, so I can order it then for 10% off!! That means I''ll have some money left over for some great earrings, I''ll post pictures as I shop!!

Here''s some pics:

It looks great on you...that sample fits you PERFECTLY. Congratulations on finding a dress that you love!

i absolutley love the back w/ the ribbon!!! gorgeous!!!

Yeah!! With all this good luck, it seems like this dress was meant to be yours! It looks great, and I love the ribbon.

It''s a beautiful dress! I think it''s definitely the one for you!

I also just finished my 1L year of law school... while planning a wedding... so stressful! Planning over the summer while you''re less busy is definitely a good plan!

Ok, I am getting sooo ahead of myself... we haven''t really started thinking about budget/guest list, tried to book locations or anything yet.... but I LOVE the dress so I''m shopping for jewelry now.

So I''m thinking, no necklace since it''s got the halter... so a pair of chandelier earrings and a bracelet. Hair will be long and wavy, parted on the side, with a rhinestone clip on one side pulling the hair away from the face.

So I''m thinking I like these earrings - they are a Tiffany design, but I found a replica pair for $50

and this bracelet, $40:

So what do you think? I want it to be elegant and formal, but not over the top. I''m just wondering if it is a little too subtle. But I don''t want to look like I''m wearing pounds of costume jewelry either!! I have rather small ears and a small face, with a relatively long neck. I think the really large chandelier earrings may overpower my face.

I was originally thinking pink pearl drop earrings, but I LOVE Tiffany designs, and I think the earrings go with the whole modern meets Hollywood glamour feel of the dress. (and I''d love to stay with the Tiffany''s theme since my e-ring is Tiffany''s, and maybe my wedding band too!! even if the earrings/bracelet have to be fakies)

What do you guys think, can you see it with the dress??

congrats on finding the dress! not sure about the earrings, they are rather large, but im a stud girl anyway. the bracelet is nice and would go well with the dress. i love the way the dress hugs your curves, im sure you''ll look amazing on your big day!
