Joe though!

Why oh why do we engage in the smear on here? It''s like we are all brainwashed Americans who need to "one up" each other with the smear of Joe Schom, or random people on campaigns. Can''t we all discuss the issues and be above the game playing of the politicals who hope that the populace gets worked up over blatant distractions?

Hi Ladies~

Hey, quick threadjack...lol
I need to make a cake for my daughters b-day tomorrow and um, well, it looks like nobody sells 3.4 oz packages of Jello anymore (unless it's sugar free junk)

It appears we only buy small now in single serving illogical ecological craplastic containers.

So, I had to buy a large box...and then well, I don't really remember how to make a Jello Poke cake anymore, but it used to be her favorite cake ever and begged to me to make it all the time, so I am going to surprise her. Meet me in the Cupcake thread if any of you can help me...especially you Freke (I know you're lurking and biting your tongue) I have to make cool whip green like a football field and put her on the 29 yard line.

Dang, she's getin' old. Wait, dang I'm gettin' old.

Okay, Ding..Ding....Round Page 6

ETA: I can't highjack a cupcake thread...starting a Jello Poke cake thread in Family

Nope. Never said Joe ''enlightened'' us. In fact, you missed the point.
Not referring to Obama''s ''promise'' to lower taxes, either. In fact, you missed the point.
And really, I won''t lose sleep tonight knowing that just maybe I insulted a Socialist, although it sounds like you''d make a great party member!
35.gif

Just take a lifeline. In a patriotic mavericky betcha way. It''s OK. History and facts ... let''s not venture into socialist territory here.

With your interpretation -- you''re also insulting ''socialists'' like RONALD REAGAN and FDR! Sleep tight!
35.gif

That WOULD be a biting comment if, in fact, it made any historical and factual sense whatsoever.

But really, I think I''m laughing too hard to sleep now!

beebrisk for as concerned and knowledgeable as you are on socialism, you never answered a single one of my questions that you promised you would in the old socialism thread. how come??

While the article was interesting, I''m starting to feel like maybe the media is a bit confused about what transpired between Joe and Obama.

He was not asking Obama if he was going to be taxed on his "Ohio average 47k" salary. He was asking about if he were to open a business, "add trucks, hire employees" etc. that made over 250k a year...if he would be taxed. I don''t understand how what he makes as a plumber now is relevant. He asked a question about being a busines owner, not a plumber.

I guess my impression of the article was that the depiction that McCain was trying to paint of this ''noble Joe the Plumber" was not representative at all. If he wanted to depict ''small businesses'', then that would be a little different, though most don''t make 250K either. And other articles that I have read say that the business he was trying to buy was making closer to 100K a year, but I could be wrong about that, I don''t remember the source. Further, there is the question of him have the resources and finances, since he has a lien on his home. I really don''t care that much about Joe, and I wish people would leave him alone. I just think the article wanted to highlight NORMAL plumbers.

I just think the article wanted to highlight NORMAL plumbers.
A friend of mine is a plumber and I do his bosses computers and they do make good money and earn every penny of it.
During the building boom it was easy for a plumbing company owner who worked in the field with 10 employees to make $250k+ and they very work hard for it.
It is actually the perfect example of penalizing someone for working hard.
They earn their money far more so than someone on wall street leaching off investors.
So maybe Joe isn't at that level yet but he might want to be someday and with a lot of hard work and a little luck he could be.

Apparently, Joe doesn''t approve of taxes in general

John McCain and an Army of Joes. Funny article on National Review - a few immigrants that are now American citizens went after the media verbally for attacking Joe after the McCain rally in VA last Saturday.

If you still need the recipe . . .

http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,jello_poke_cake,FF.html
I looked up the recipe. What does it taste like? Does it taste like a cake with jello inside or does it morph into something better? I can understand pudding, but jello sounds weird!

It basically just gives your cake a fruit flavoring, like the flavor of the jello. And it puts pretty color stripes in your cake, like little girls like:) I haven''t had it since I was young, but it was big on the birthday party circuit in the late 70s.

Edited: I think this breaking news deserves its own thread!

Someone is trying to dig up dirt on Joe.

I hope that no one wastes their time digging. He''s hanging himself on his own. Seriously, does anyone still

this guy? It''s just a matter of time before McCain''s aides are leaking that he''s a whackjob, just as they are with Palin.

Joe the Plumber! I posted a thread about McCain''s latest ad featuring a bunch of people saying they''re Joe the Plumber. Hilarious!

And I forgot to mention-Joe the Plumber actually forced Fox News to issue a disclaimer that something he said was completely incorrect! Joe said that Obama being elected would be the "death of Israel," which Shepard Smith had to correct and say that Obama has been nothing but a friend to Israel.

You know you''re ill-informed when FOX NEWS is issuing disclaimers after the ignorant stuff you say!

I for one can''t wait to see & hear the last of Joe. Not because he asked Obama a question, but because he is so uniformed about the issues. He just doesn''t think or know the facts before he opens his mouth and it''s a shame he''s been given a platform. And again, I''m not talking about the question he asked, but about comments he''s made on tv since then. But that''s just my opinion.

Like him or not, I think he''ll be around for a while. He''s got that book deal and county music career...

He was good for a few easy last-minute halloween costumes though!
