MY PROBLEM!!!

You know, the day started off......"off" I was running late, had to get my kids to school, and I had a doctor's appointment to get to all within 15 min. Anyways, my husband goes to the back alley-way where our trash is and what does he find? Two cute puppies! The puppies were sitting in the dirt covered with tiny burs. So, I go out and pick one up and take the pup inside. I'm thinking what are we gonna do with them? They looked terribly malnourished, so skinny, and they had the saddest eyes. I gave them something to drink which they guzzled down and the tiny one howled out in pain, fell on his side and started to vomit. I told DH lets take them somewhere to get them checked out. We took the pups to the vet and they got tested for parvo, both pups tested positive!

The vet said they wouldn't survive and the best thing was to have them uthenized. What a way to start the morning....poor things!

What gets me the most is the pups were so lethargic that I know someone had to drop them off behind our house. I don't think they could make it across a street let alone go unnoticed.

Since I can't say this to the actual owners would you mind if I say it here? (I just have to get it off my chest)

This is a shout out for all irresponsible pet owners......TAKE CARE OF YOUR PETS, GET THEM THE SHOTS THEY NEED. A SIMPLE SHOT COULD HAVE SAVED THESE PUPPIES!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM SOMEONE ELSE WILL!

Thanks for reading

Ugh...what a horrible way to start out a day indeed. I hate that people think it''s OK to mistreat and neglect animals.

This afternoon on my drive home, I heard a story about a woman whose dog had been taken and deliberately thrown off of an overpass.

Seriously, I hope the people who do things like that receive the appropriate treatment whether it''s in this life or the one to come.

I''m so sorry that happened to you, but thank you for taking the time to help those poor little puppies. You are a saint!

Little Rock: you are to be complimented for what you have done.
So sorry it had to be you to find them.I can only imagine how hard its has been on you.
Yes unfortunately there are many irresponsible people out there , but don''t give up.
We need more people like yourself and I feel that there are lots right here ,so feel free to vent your frustration.
Somehow those pups were shown lots of compassion in the last moments of their existence and its all because if you!!!

Like Sumbride said:"You are a saint!"

Oh that is so sad. Bless you for trying to help them.

Thanks guys. I think we all know anyone of us would have done the same thing

That''s why I came here to vent, there are so many pet-lovers here!

Thank you for listening.....

Oh, that''s so heartbreaking! I really can''t believe people can be so low. Thank goodness they found someone like you to help them find the peace they deserve, poor things

I agree, the simple basics for their pets! That''s like what, A $6 or $10 shot? I did fail to mention that these were pit-bull pups. And I know what kind of a reputation those dogs have but they were so cute. I also didn''t realize the extreme devistation of parvo and maybe perhaps if the pups were older "maybe" they could have survived & with lots and lots of money. But, this is one breed that is more prone to parvo. I had to bleach everywhere the pups were in our house (not many places thankfully) but that''s the only way to kill the virus.

Anyways, thanks again for the kind words everyone!

aww those poor babies-I don''t know how anyone could do that to an animal-they deserve to be shot. They were lucky you found them.

OMG! That is so sad to hear. I''m sorry that you had to go through something like that, it is very unfortunate.

Ugh, things like this really break my heart...

That is truly criminal of the "owners". So incredibly sad.

LittleRock - I don''t know if you have other pets, but if you do I would keep them out of the areas where the pups were for a few days. Parvo can be killed by bleach, but it doesn''t always completely kill it, and it can stay in the environment for up to 4 weeks! I bought a puppy only to realize when we got her home that something was wrong! We took her in and she was diagnosed, didn''t make it through the week. We took her home to her breeder (who was devastated, honestly had no idea, she found out later that her neighbors'' pup had died from parvo and the neighbors failed to tell her) so she could be somewhere familiar for the remainder of her time. My new puppy (who I still have and love) had to be quarantined in the office until her puppy boosters were done. It''s a very attacking virus. I''m so glad that you did what was right for those poor pups.
As to the pit bull part, the dog reflects the owner. We have a pitt and she is the sweetest dog ever, loves kids, loves to play, loves to be loved on. We have another that is younger that is the same way, but I honestly think she might be mildly retarded too. We have yet another who we rescued from fighters

and you would think he''d been raised with kids his entire life, very sweet, loveable, and affectionate. I think it depends on the owners and what they do to them.

Bless you for helping the poor little guys! I can''t stand animal abuse and neglect. It''s something that can break me down into tears in a moments time (Animal Planet is blocked on our TV because SO would come home at night and find me huddled on the couch bawling holding onto all our animals as if my loving them could help save all other animals).

I just wanted to say thank you for having such a kind heart.
