Will my settings arrive by Friday?

I have two rings being shipped from China today; one from LOGR and the other from JeweleryCastle. Do you think they'll arrive by Friday? Have you ever had a LOGR that arrived on a Saturday? I'll be home this Friday, but I work all week so I won't be able to catch the mailman for the signature confirmation. So, I'll probably have to make the 45 minute drive to the DHL office to pick it up! Bahh. Have you ever had a LOGR arrive in just 4-5 days? The last few I've had arrived quickly, but I don't remember exactly how many days it took.

I think my previous one took about a week. Is it being delivered by USPS or DHL? I’ve had it sent both ways but I don’t know if DHL does Saturday delivery.

From my experience DHL doesn't do Saturday delivery. They will however, give you the option to sign the door slip for Monday.

So, I'm taking that as a no? I'm a little extra sad because I'm going out of town 6am Monday morning and DHL doesn't open till 8am, so it might be a while till I actually get to see the rings. Boo!

It's been awhile since I've ordered from LOGR, but all of my settings were shipped DHL, and they took an unbelievable 2 days. I'm on the East coast, so I don't know if that makes a difference. Also, LOGR would send me the tracking number, so I could watch it, and once it hit the States, it was usually delivered on the same day. Hope they arrive soon!

Fingers crossed big time that they arrive soon! I've ordered two settings, both for my mom. One is a simple marquise halo that LTP has as well; I ordered this mount a month ago, but it came in and didn't fit my half carat marquise stone. So, it went back, and its 4x8mm replacement is on its way (the old mount was a 3.5x7mm). My mom's birthday is at the end of this month, and this ring is a present for her because she loves marquise stones. The whole project should have been done by now and sitting in a box with a pretty bow, but, at least its on its way now and will get here soon.

The other is the mount I asked you about earlier, a 7x9 oval. This one is so that I can surprise her, because she already knows about the other ring . No one in the house knows its on the way, which is why I want to intercept it before I get a notice on the door!

I think delivery times depend on whether you've asked for any changes/upgrades. If you have, then this takes longer and can be around 1-2 weeks. Also, some of his items are "stock" items and others I think are made as they're sold. The reason I think this is I've just emailed him about one of his settings (currently up for auction on Ebay) and he told me if I wanted one then he would have to get it made.

If it's urgent why don't you email Tan and ask him if he can speed it up a bit?

I'm mega excited. Both are for my mother! Her birthday is at the end of July. She knows about the first one, but doesn't know about the second one. I love planning surprises! I'm thinking cabachon for the second one; there's one I've had my eye on that would fit perfectly..I trust the vendor, but the picture of the stone is "meh" so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

ETA: If you have any 7x9 suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Indy both settings are lovely - lucky Mum to have such a great daughter.

I love the idea of a cab in the second setting.

When you said will it fit a 6 x 8 Emerald, you mean Emerald stone and not Emerald cut don't you? This is one of those settings that you may have tolerance to work with BUT your stone may sit too low in the setting and so the girdle of the setting might be too prominent and high. If the stone pops into it and sinks too far down when it arrives then the answer is probably no but if the stone stays high in the setting then it may be possible.

I think whatever colour stone you go for will look good in that setting though. Even a stone a bit larger would work I think.

Thank you again LD! It might be best for me to play it safe until I get the setting in my hands to see if it might be accommodating for an EC. And yes, you are correct, I did mean EC! Though now you've got me wishing for an emerald... I hope the diamonds come in decent. Fingers crossed!
