First photo is from a video they sent, the rest of the photos are from screen shots of shaded videos I asked for.
The last photo is what looks like a window when it turns on its side. Do all emerald cuts have this?
They are asking $320/ct. Right over 4cts.
I am looking for a Santa Maria coloring and something around 4-6cts. I have always loved emerald cuts....

Barely a window. Tilt window is normal.

Gem type and cut design dictates how hard/easy it is to see a tilt window. To some extent, it’s easier to see in light coloured stones too.

As chrono said, tilt window is normal.

The issue I have with this stone is that the lines are not parallel to each other in the photos in the first post, which means it is not a precision cut stone. However, I could be wrong about this as I am not an expert.

Precision cut stones are not for everyone, as colour is king in CS, and some may accept non-precision cut if the colour is right. And the colour is pleasing to my untrained eyes for a Santa Maria stone.

Personal preferences and all that.

DK :))

How can one tell the difference between a window and a tilt window ?
I have a window ...or maybe i dont ???

DO you trust the seller? What I have noticed is some sellers online are only sharing "particular" shots so you can't see errors.

https://www.instagram.com/glennpreus/ - This dude knows how to cut and share multiple angles. and has a return policy.

Generally speaking, a window is when you can see straight through the stone in its normal face-up orientation.

A tilt window is a "window" that appears only when the stone is at an angle (tilted).

Sorry to thread jack but I just contacted this guy today! Do you have experience working with him? That egg shaped aqua is very pretty. I’d feel better if he let you see the stones in person, but he said he’s not open to the public.

This seller has good reviews from others and sent multiple videos in the shade when asked...
Thank you for the reference, I will check him out.

Thank you!!

It looks a little like the edges of the long facets of the pavilion are not parallel to the long facets on the crown. Crooked line in the third photo.

Definitely a tilt window BUT is the culet off centre? It could be the angle of the photo but just thought I'd mention it.

Thank you! I will check as I look a screenshot of the video.

This Aqua is displaying a massive window in the centre of the stone!
