Winter lighting vs summer re pics of diamonds

I was flipping thru my iPhone 11 pics (I specify to give context) and noticed that my ring seemed to photograph more vividly during the winter. I can’t for the life of me capture a vivid pic and I’ve been trying all summer! I was beginning to think that it was my phone camera but I suspect it has to do with lighting bc the issue is only outdoors. Thoughts?
