I "upgraded" my husband''s ring several years ago from an engraved gold band to one with channel set princess cut diamonds. He doesn''t wear it except when we go out so I am always threatening to have it sized down for me!!!

I told my hubby that if he doesn''t wear his I''m going to tattoo "Married", "Taken", or my name across his finger. He''s opted for the wedding band

HAHAHHA ... oh my. you just made my day.
Anyhow, my FI wants a bit o'' bling, and I''ve got a custom thing in the works... I''ll share the details when it''s done!! But it will have a 10pt diamond.

My husband has an Irish wedding ring, with no diamonds (we didn''t buy it off the web but here is one like it:

I noticed the one on this link has a diamond. When we saw it, it had a ruby, which really looked handsome in that ring. But at the store where we first saw it, the salesman didn’t recommend it, I think because he said it would get all scratched up, which I think is kind of stupid; I thought rubies were pretty hard. Besides, my brother (and other folks I know) has an emerald in his ring, which is soft, and he doesn’t worry about it. In any case, my husband isn’t the “jewel” type anyway, so his ring looks very nice without. We weren’t aware of one with a diamond.

But speaking of my brother’s ring, he also has an Irish one. I don’t know if this is it, but it looks like this:

It looks good, and I’m sure he doesn’t worry about the emerald scratching. It coordinates well with his wife’s ring, which also has emeralds:

Incidentally, the site where I show my brother''s ring makes it sound like a woman''s ring; well I don''t know if it''s the same ring, but it looks masculine on him. Wish I could post the picture directly.

My ring has pinks - so I thought, a small blue would be gorgeous for him. He does not want something ''blingy''.

Daniel, you have the perfect band! Gorgeous.....my husband''s little speck of a diamond fell out of his yellow gold band several years ago, & he replaced it with a speck of a ruby that is so dark it just looks like there''s a hole in the ring.....but he''s very attached to the old thing.

My boyfriend wouldn''t go near a diamond band...he''s completely baffled as to why I spent all this time researching mine!

He wants something plain. Probably a yellow gold 5mm band, which is fine with me. It''ll only cost about $150.00 this way.

Wow Mara, your husbands ring is fab! I''m glad that he decided on this setting - it''s very handsome! I''m hoping to set a black diamond in my boyfriends ring (one day) - I will have to convince him of course but I think a diamond is a must!

My husband preferred a gold band with no diamonds. He did choose a braided gold design on his but I couldn''t persuade him to get any diamonds. He just wrinkled up his nose and said it wasn''t his style. To each his own I guess. I must say that his ring is really nice and he gets a lot of compliments on it.
