I have just received first pictures of my beautiful three stone champagne engagement ring and I absolutely love it!
I just wanted to see if its just me or if there is yellow gold next to the rose gold on the ring or if its just lighting :) Just want to make sure it’s all good to go before it’s all ready to be sent out to me :) any other feedback? thank you for your help in advance!

I don’t see any yellow gold. It’s just lighting hitting things differently. It’s seems fine to me. You’d be better off asking the maker these questions though if you have concerns.

Thank you! You are probably right! It just seems to be a slightly different shade of gold next to the rose gold.DA7FC3B7-D5DA-45B1-B961-55B461E0FB9E.png

Wow your ring is really beautiful! :) I see what you are talking about, but i dont think the jeweler would add a different color gold without telling you. I assume its just a reflection. But i agree, (if its not in the mail yet esp!) to ask. Its lovely, cant wait to see it on your hand! :kiss2:

Beautiful ring! I bet it is just a reflection too and would ask before it ships. Congrats!! Looking forward to seeing more pictures when it arrives.

Awh thank you so much! I'm super excited about it! Cant wait to get it :)
That's exactly what I was thinking as they would be making the project more complex having to use a third metal :) I have just sent an email asking to be sure.

Thank you!!! :kiss2: Will make sure to post pictures once it gets here!

Wow, it is so beautiful!!

It appears that they used yellow gold solder.

agree this is a possibility.

whats the white metal @Lolalol ?
ask to find out if it is possibly the case?

I have a platinum/18krose gold band that the solder areas look very similar to this. I did ask “why the yellow” and was told it would polish out. It didn’t. I wasn’t smart enough to ask at the time if the “wrong” metal solder was used.

it’s a beautiful ring!

Oh no, that might be it! Not sure why they just didn’t go with rose gold. Hope it’s not a big job to change it.

Oh gosh, must be the same issue then! The white metal is platinum and then rose gold so exactly like you have mentioned was the case with your ring.
If they say it will polish out I won’t accept that as a solution! Just hoping isn’t bot a huge job to change it to rose gold or platinum. Thank you!

Googling just told me it might be a carcinogen issue for rose gold solder with cadmium in it, that’s a ”nice” rose color.
Cadmium free rose gold solder leans very yellow.
Don’t know how reliable this info is.

I will say - you do have to be looking for the yellow, on my ring. casual observation doesn’t catch it.

Silly me, I should have done that too! :D Thank you for checking! Will look into it now further.

Great to know that its not overly visible! And in a way I'm glad I'm not the only one and that there seems to be a good reason for it! Thank you so much for your advise and help! <3

Looks to me as it's just the lighting and angle that makes it look different a different shade of gold but always ask to be sure before it sent out.

I see what you're saying but I think it's a reflection of the rose gold on the white metal. Definitely ask before it's sent to you. It's a beautiful ring!

I think its a gorgeous ring! Ask the vendor but my guess is that it's a reflection

beautiful! Can't
wait to see hand shots when you get it! please post a SMTB thread :)

It is a big deal to change it. Unless they are only plating it, they would have to totally remake the ring. You may not be able to see the difference in person.

I have a rose gold and platinum ring. Actually I’ve had several and I always notice a blended color right where they meet. The color is in between white metal and rose gold metal, a little lighter than rose gold almost yellow gold colored. I noticed this in my CvB ring and my David Klass ring.
I don’t think the maker would have added yellow gold to the mix. I feel that would complicate things. I think it’s just lighter than rose gold in that area bc that is where the two metals mix. I’ll see if I can find a photo of my ring for you.

Here is a photo. I had to take it from the video bc in real life you don’t notice it. I assume it’s where the two metals melted together so it’s a combo color between the two.
I am super picky and I really don’t like yellow gold so if I thought yellow gold was used I would definitely have returned my ring. Also I can’t imagine yellow gold would have been used just bc it would have to be applied so precisely and finely and there would be a risk too much would be applied, etc. etc. and the setting would be ruined.

Thank you for sharing and it’s exactly the same case with my ring just a tiny bit of lighter coloured rose gold and I got a confirmation that it’s definitely rose gold and just the lighting. Completely agree that it doesn’t make sense for it to be yellow gold but might be something to do with the solder between the two metals.
Thank you for sharing your pictures and your feedback :)

Thank you everyone for your feedback!
The vendor confirmed that it’s just the lighting which is great news and I can’t wait to see it in person and post some pictures!
Really appreciate everyone’s feedback and kind words :)

@Lolalol Glad you got the response you were hoping for and can’t wait to see more pics of your ring.

:D

For purposes of sharing experiences, I once had a platinum ring where the jeweler used white gold solder and it drove me absolutely bonkers. Maybe he had a good reason and I forgot it. Happy to hear that others with this experience do not mind.

Is it normal practice for jewelers to use solder where the difference in metal is super obvious?

Thank you everyone for all your help! I have received my beautiful ring and I couldn’t be happier with it and how sparkly it is and how the champagne diamond changes colour depending on the lighting :kiss2:D0CCF7C8-E889-4595-A99A-9ABF5B8D0557.jpegFE0A14F4-6C26-4F5A-9DC6-BC31E062273C.pngF1C6A7A2-AEFE-4812-84E1-66A484291323.png

It’s so beautiful, congratulations!!

Amazingly gorgeous!! In the 1st pic, it looks more champagne, but in the 2nd and 3rd pics, the diamond looks peachy pink. Both colors are simply lovely. Its such a perfect size too; what carat size is the main diamond?

Very beautiful!
Love the different looks you get with lower colors, esp browns, in different environments

Oh it's really beautiful!!! Very glad everything worked out, congrats!

That is stunning! Congrats!
