Sometimes I miss things in lyrics that other people will pick up, and I rather like this song and it seems pretty appropriate to our relationship from how I''m interpreting the lyrics, but wanted to make sure I''m not missing something!
It''s called Lovely Tonight by Joshua Radin. The lyrics are posted below, but if you wanted to listen to it I know that it''s on his MySpace Page, thats where I found it. It should be the first song that starts playing..
I need you to know this won''t be broken
And all that we said will not be lost into the dawn
And you would be the last thing I saw coming
I''m still surprised
You are lovely tonight
You, dear, will guide me into the morning light
You are lovely tonight
Lay here beside me - I see the rest of my life with you
Alone we are fine; but when we''re two, we are eternal
The moons have aligned our separate lives; here become one
And you would be the last thing I saw coming
I''m still surprised
You are lovely tonight
You, dear, will guide me into the morning light
You are lovely tonight
Lay here beside me - I see the rest of my life with you
All my life I''ve lived alone without you
All this time I couldn''t find a way to belong
And you are lovely tonight
You, dear, will guide me into the morning light
You are lovely tonight
Lay here beside me - I see the rest of my life with you
So am I missing anything or would this be good?
For a little background and how I''m reading into the song...I find it appropriate because the first lines make me think of how our wedding vows are for life. Also, FI was completely the last thing I saw coming! We met online and talked for several months before deciding to meet in person and be friends, nothing more. He had a girlfriend, and I wasn''t looking to start up a relationship with anyone right then. I am still surprised sometimes how it all turned out.. it''s amazing to me. The line about not being able to find a way to belong, that seems right too...but I''d rather not get into why. And of course, I see the rest of my life with him....
BUT, if any of you is seeing something that I''m missing that makes this song not so great for a first dance, please let me know!
