I love this setting, or a similar pave band for an e-ring, but I also really love the thin, shared prong eternity bands a la memoire or facets...

Do you think I could have the best of both worlds, and pair a thin, pave set e-ring with an equally thin, shared prong band?

I think they would sparkle differently - the diamonds in the pave are so tiny, and there''s more metal showing, that I think they more ''shimmer'' than really sparkle (which I love), and a shared prong eternity band is just all bling and sparkle, which I love too.

So, I know they wouldn''t match exactly, which is the point. I''m just wondering if people think there would be cool, interesting contrast, or if it would just look tacky?

Thanks!

A variety of textures can be beautiful and much more interesting than the matchy-matchy styles. Of course, it depends on your aesthetic preference.

One of my mismatched ''sets''(not diamonds but contrasting engraving):

I like all kinds of looks. I think if you like it- then go for it. It will have plenty of sparkle.

(I wish I could master Photoshop and put something together for you- sorry)

Hmmm...since I haven''t seen the two styles side by side on a finger, I really don''t have an opinion. Have you tried on an example of this mixed set? In the end, the only thing that matters is what YOU think. If I were in your place, I''d head over to a store and stack a shared prong band and a pave ering together and see if I liked the combo. I wouldn''t want to purchase the 2 separately and then once I got home decide that I didn''t really like the look together.

You know

, you could just get TWO matching w-bands to stack on either side of the ering! This would prevent it from looking accidental and make it more interesting too.
