Would you put these in one ring?

Brainstorming some setting ideas for my recently acquired brown diamond, I realized I have a yellow sapphire of a similar size. Do you guys think the idea of putting them together in some sort of a toi et moi ring is worth exploring? I’m not finding many yellow and brown combos online, not sure if there’s an esthetic reason for it. The other option I’m considering is just simple stacker rings that could be worn separately or together. I’m really not sold on either yet. What are your thoughts?

I personally wouldn't. They are both great in isolation, but I feel like using both kind of washes out the brown

I agree with @lovedogs I think your sapphire is gorgeous and is dominating when placed next to the diamond. I love how they look together on the first 2 pictures, but under the different light (3 last pictures) the diamond looks like a poor relative next to a rich guy. Your lovely diamond deserves his own setting!

My school uniforn was yellow and brown so its best i dont comment. but it was not a colour combo that looked good in 1985

However Im sure with much thought, time and design skill your ring could be a much updated and beautuful look

I never say never when it comes to color combos, but I would still recommend you set them separately because there's a lot less that could go wrong.

I think yellow and brown are fine together, but not in this case; the diamond has a very cool tone to me in some of the photos so I don't think it "goes."

I think you could do almost any color with that yellow sapphire as long as it had that same saturation/intensity.

I'm thinking 18K green gold for the diamond...

My mother always said that colour combo was like, uh...numbers 1 and 2. :/
I think the yellow would look good in yellow or white gold, and the brown would look lovely in rose gold.

I’m going to be a contrarian. While at first glance my opinion was similar to most responders, on second thought I’d want a creative designer to weigh in and take a shot with different metals etc. I could be crazy, but I’ve seen some cool designs done with non-complimentary color stones. I’d at least explore it.

I agree it can be done but it's not something I would be comfortable designing on my own. It'll take some artistic thinking to be able to balance the colour and difference in sparkle factor.
