Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I checked in with my non-communicative florist today and she had some interesting news.

It turns out with the high energy costs, about half of the kinds of flowers I wanted in my wedding are unavailable because importing has slowed down. Also because of the high energy costs, many of the flower nurseries in California have closed.

If your florist isn''t the best at keeping you updated or checking in with you, you may want to give yours a call to check on the availability of your flowers!

Thanks for the heads-up Misysu! We''re actually meeting with our florist this weekend, and I''ll ask her about the availability of flowers we like.

I would tell your florists, or email them (in writing is better) that they need to inform you of any substitutions they intend to make in your flowers, and that you need to approve them.

I have complete confidence in my florist, and she''s well aware of how EXTREMELY invested I am in my flowers, so we put that clause into our contract. I approve all substitutions, she does her best to make sure there aren''t any to approve.
