The 2.02ct G SI1 from BN arrived today. She's a beauty. Setting next month.
Do you have a photo, perhaps?

The old mine cut is 0.68 carat and this Lang Antique archive ring is probably the closest to what my setting will look like.Gorgeous. What is the carat weight? And how will you set it?
I have several antiques on the way: a Georgian brooch with flat-cut garnets set as flowers, a Georgian or early Victorian stickpin with seed pearls sewn onto a mother-of-pearl frame surrounding a gemstone that may or may not be a chrysoberyl, and a silver snuffbox with a portrait miniature set in the lid.
And that Tahitian pearl pin with the OEC halo has passed eBay's authentication and is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
What a terrible ebay habit I have. Stop it, Glitterata, stop it!
That's exciting. "Summer bling, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind."The 2.02ct G SI1 from BN arrived today. She's a beauty. Setting next month.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk! I just made the final payment to Leslielsc for this beauty! It will be delivered next week!!

Why yes! Yes, I do! (Granted, they're crap photos. I just took them and it's VERY overcast here at the mo! Holding the box with one hand and the phone with the other...)
3rd bottom row, in the middle on its lonesome:
A little closer:
Sort of jammed onto my finger in a spring holder. Terrible photo - heavily, storm-cloud dark here, so the color and clarity are not at all indicative of what it is in real life. Beautiful cut specs, and it sparkled like the clappers when I received it and the sun was out. Should have taken some shots then, but it didn't occur to me that anyone might want to see it:

That's a stunner, even in poor lighting. I love the size on your hand, very substantial but not past good proportions. And I see it arrived in a very good neighborhood.
I actually love 2ct solis. That size was one of the first diamonds I had when I started collecting well cut diamonds, and I've always thought it was an incredibly elegant size on the hand. Substantial, without being garish. Gorgeous!
@newtojewels AHHHHH! I'm so excited! I saw that it had sold and wondered if you had bought it. I think you'll know the instant you open the box if it's the right ring for you.
I would definitely get it professionally appraised if you decide to keep it for a better estimate of the CTW, but regardless, like you said, it's a great value for the price. I don't think you'll find anything close for under 10k. BUT, that's assuming it's the right ring for you. If it's heart-thumpingly beautiful, you'll know it's the one. And if not, it's returnable.
I had it on hold literally all day yesterday, lol. I kept re-adding it to my cart every 15-20 minutes while working, eating lunch, etc. I'm visiting family in a lower-tax state right now which pushed me over the edge.
And I think you're right that I'll know immediately -- though it may need to be cleaned first rather than straight out of the box! I'll definitely post photos and videos either way in case anyone else here has been thinking about this ring.

I ordered the French cut band from my earlier post! But it's returnable so I'll post photos/videos here for thoughts once it arrives and I give it a good clean. I decided it was worth the shipping cost to see how I felt in person since I have been thinking about it for a month. I looked for other French cut bands in my size and there was nothing close for the price EDIT: ready-made, I didn't get a quote from DK though.
The original on the left from Neil Lane Couture (size 5.25) and the one I ordered from TRR on the right (size 7.75), with an attempt to make them proportionate to ring diameter:
Notes to myself from overthinking while I wait for this to arrive. I figured I would post these since we all love overthinking jewelry here!
The proportions look different for the original versus the one on TRR. The Frenchies look smaller and the rounds look bigger on the one I ordered. It would have been nice if the bigger size had the same big French cuts! TRR estimates 3.05ctw Frenchies for the 7.75, Neil Lane Couture says (EDIT: 2.79ctw in some places versus 3.79ctw in others so who knows, but they look bigger on the original than most ~3ctw French cut bands I've seen....) Frenchies for the 5.25, F-G color, VS clarity. The ring in my size is 8.2 grams in platinum and 5.8mm wide. It's 25 French cuts in my size versus what looks like 19 in the original, so they're definitely smaller stones than the originals no matter what the original ctw was. I'll just have to break out the calipers when it arrives!
These are low crown Frenchies and not checkerboardy from what my untrained eyes see. I'll need to see if I like the cut enough to justify this particular ring versus having a plain French cut band or maybe this style made in my size with higher crown stones. Or I may decide French cuts or a large eternity on the index/middle/thumbs just isn't for me! I like how low-profile it is for the width, it seems like that will help with comfort. And again, I thought the chance to try this in my size was worth the shipping cost.

What would you do for rehab? I like it as-is but could also see it as a pendant!
One of the diamonds I bought for my five stone arrived and it’s a great match!! I’ll post more details over in my anniversary ring thread. Super stoked it worked out! New stone is the .54 K VS2.
Stunning! Have you decided which way you're going to orient it?
WOW!!! This is going to be beautiful
