Your Latest Jewelry Purchases/Things You're Considering....

My second project is transforming an heirloom necklace, given to me by my mother, into two bangle bracelets! The necklace is very heavy and made of 18kt yellow gold. I asked my jeweler to create two oval bangles, one in yellow gold and one in white gold, while maintaining the original design and pattern of the necklace and I told him to incorporate in the white gold bangle a 0.24 ct round brilliant diamond and in the yellow gold bangle a 0.30 heart diamond, which i had bought in the past and kept loose for a future project!
I attach pictures of the GIA reports of the respective diamonds and of the necklace wrapped around my wrist!

So I don't know if this is the right thread for what I'm going to share but I have two projects underway!
The first one: I'm having this diamond set in a simple Tiffany style 18 kt white gold solitaire setting, which will perfectly match with my plain wedding band! I'm planning on using this set everyday and keep my more elaborate, three-stone ring and matching half eternity band, for fancier occasions!

This will be awesome, @Natylad! Every-day sets are such a great idea! Looking forward to seeing this - and your 2 new bangles! - when they're done. :wavey:

@Natylad, both your projects sound great!! I love that you are are putting together an everyday set, will be really nice to have that option. Can't wait to see your new set and your bangles!

Well, I've finally decided to upgrade. I'm pulling apart my three stone and going back to a solitaire.

This will be my new center stone:

Interestingly enough, Brittany, who has gone back and forth with me on this for over a year, is currently away from WF on maternity leave. As a result, after all the work Brittany put into this with me, I'll actually be pulling the trigger with the lovely Michelle! Sorry Brittany! Your help, however, was invaluable!

Whoa mrs-b, this stone is gorgeous!! This is all very exciting, I'm really looking forward to seeing this beauty on your hand.

I just got my dream warm OEC from Eragem! They are letting me return the original setting for a generous partial refund, which is wonderful of them. I’m going to set it in a simple unplated white gold 8-prong solitaire. It’s a 5.48ct GIA M VS1 with 50% table and 64.7% depth. I love it!

Just sent all the stats to Amy at DKJ so we can get a jump on it.

Yellow gold! I mean - seriously - do you not know me at ALL, Slick?? :-o My heart belongs - and will always belong - to yellow gold! :kiss2: Altho I have to say.....

I'm actually considering antique gold - which is a mix of yellow and rose. Altho (thinking out loud here...) if I do that, it won't match all my other pieces. So maybe not.

We'll see where this ends up!

Very exciting!!!!!!!! :appl: :appl:

*hangs head in shame* Sorry, I wasn’t thinking but yeah, yellow gold is your jam! A mix of yellow and rose sounds delish!!

This is very similar to what I'm considering - only much smaller! My rounds would only be 1.92ctw. For that reason, I'm not sure it's worth it. I do think it would be lovely tho, so I'm undecided.

I'm working on a pair of J hoops also! 18 x 26/27 pointers - all E colored and ideal specs, individually certed. I currently have 15. I also have a bunch of 20 point stones, so I might pivot and do them in 20 pointers. They're not set until they're set! I think J settings keep the weight down, as you don't have to include a metal hinge.

Sounds like our project lists are almost identical!

:wavey:

My moi et toi (if I proceed) would be a petite version of that image and smaller than yours. My two diamonds are 1.68ctw.

With my J-hoops, I'm thinking 9 or 10 x 15 pointers for each earring. I just prefer a j-shape and post. Round hoops turn outward too much on my ears.

Yes, many similarities. For years, I'd also considered bumping up to a 4ct (and had often looked at the one you just purchased). I've realized that a larger diamond is not suited for my lifestyle. I just need to put my diamond in a setting that I love.

So I just bit the bullet and put a deposit on a gypsy ring I spotted on insta with a circa 1.5ct transitional diamond eeeeek. I shouldn’t have, but I did! I jumped on it. It will be a while before I have it paid off even though it was really reasonable! E462C898-58A1-4B0E-8E4D-C1162CD3C40B.jpeg

Love it!!
Thank you! I really shouldn’t have as I have a bombe ring already that I love, but I thought it was such a good price. I love gypsy rings. I also just got my dream old mine cut ring that I spent a lot on so I feel a tad guilty. I might have to let the bombe ring go......eeek

@ZestfullyBling Artistic and awesome curation of your jewelry! :appl:

@HS4S_2 Ooh what a stunning and unique ring that made my jaw drop.

@mrs-b I feel the earth move under my feet reading that your three-stone is a stepping stone. A solitaire and a special new home for your side stones will be wonderful. The exquisite WF cut on an H of that size sounds exciting to me. And yeah, if you need a G, you can get a G, will be rooting for you finessing your vision.

@Natylad That project is a grand idea! Sentimental stones are the best.

@Tourmaline Excellent OEC! What a pattern she shows face up.

@weemie I love your classic new gypsy ring.

I did the tape trick to combine loose stones toward my setting ideas, and despite poor cell phone pictures, the results look matched OK to me.

I’m really excited!

I was taking a holiday from PS and only just saw your post. You sure struck gold with this beautiful OEC!

What a fabulous facet pattern and it must have an ideal cut for it to face up so white. Love how it picks up all those colors from its surroundings, what great photos!
