Thanks alleycat, I think it looks good in the majority of lightening situations, but there are some in which it looks quite warm. I just don’t want to mislead people and have them think that J’s are truly white, they are more winter white.

Oh this reminds me...I meant to respond to this a while ago and forgot!

To me that picture is not accurate in how a 'J' specifically can look, the reason why is because you can see a reflection of the color YELLOW showing in the metal itself off to the right of the stone...so that says to me that something yellow was behind the photographer, or they were in a yellow room or something yellow was reflecting onto both the stone and the metal. You could probably have put a G in the same lighting and had it show up similarly yellowish.

Well-cut J's do show some warmth, winter white if you will, but it's really from the sides, not from the top down, or at least the two well-cut J's I have owned don't show top down typically, but they can from the sides.. It's also about your lighting and what is reflecting into the stone...put the stone into a yellow room or with yellow lighting and take some pictures and yes it will look yellow. Just like a stone outside like the flower shots I have taken show blues and pinks in the stone. Diamonds are so reflective...part of their charm!

Here''s mine. ACA 1.236 J/VVS2.... yea I know about the "unnecessarily" high clarity, but it was actually priced lower than another diamond of similar size, same color and SI1 clarity. Don''t know why that is, but it was a real easy decision to pick this one over the other one.

Thought I'd revive this great thread and add my own J's in platinum. I am a convert. A beautifully cut J, eye-clean SI2 is my new sweet spot.

The ring posted below has a center stone that's 3.11ct, H, VS2
But both side stones are 1.1+ ct, J, SI2's. Yeah!!

I love my new J's!!
