To me, Valentines Day is a Hallmark holiday that means nothing more than a reason for roses to be priced at a zillion times their regular price and a way to coax men into buying expensive dinners and treats. Sorry, not trying to be a bah humbug, but I don''t feel any more romance on Valentines day than I do any other day.
This year though, the day after Valentines Day is the day I''m looking forward too. Flogging Molly + Floor Seats + A trip into NY = FUN!!
We used to feel the same way about Valentines day. It was never really a big deal at our house. I mean we''d do something really small and personal but nothing outrageous, so this year we decided to make the day extra special and give it a WHOLE new meaning to us that will last for years to come:
We''re getting Married on Valentine''s day!!!
Now it will always be extra special to us and it won''t just be another ''Hallmark holiday''. It will actually be OURS and have a whole new meaning to us

How wonderful!!! That is so sweet and very special for the two of you. Did you do any decorations red/white to go with the day? Congrats again

Same for us too. I would prefer my FF to get me gifts or flowers on any other day then just because he is "supposed" to for the "holiday." However, I do enjoy the candy that comes out during this time, I just buy it myself!Date: 1/15/2009 9:28:32 AM

I KNOW there won''t be a proposal this Valentine''s Day (we''re poor students! boo...) and we decided to keep it simple since we splurged on the holidays and will for spring break coming up next month. He''s taking me to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and I told him I want to go browse at Tiffanys, lol. Other than that, I have no idea

Dinner and Tiffany''s, it does not get any better than that. When me and BF were in Vegas, he managed to talk the manager into giving us a blue book. I used it to get ideas for my colored stones.

Its all about how you come across. When he went by himself, the store said no way. He went with me, and I went off to look at colored stones, and we was just wandering when the manager approached him and asked him if he needed anything, and my BF said ''yes, I would really like a blue book, do you have any?'' He said yes, they did some sort of guy business card exchange, and he got the blue book .

Ahhhh. I see - thanks!
I always did wonder - who does get Bluebooks? Are they frequent Tiffs customers?
