So, a little while ago I went to my first dress fitting. I am super happy with the dress.

Fiance and I picked it out years ago. I''m not a "white dress" bride so the dramatic swash of color was so me. But I was a little nervous about posting these pics. I do not think I look great. Need to lose a few more to make it fit right (already have lost 7 lbs since this fitting!) and I need some kind of extra boost in the chest area!

lol

But here they are. Be honest, tell me where I need to get it altered or what you think!
Thanks.

Congrats on finding the dress you love!

The first thing that stands out to me is the waist area. It will have to be let out because you can see the bunching right above your hips.

Also, are you wearing heels? If not, the dress might be a little short. But it''s hard to tell with these pictures.

Thanks! I think the bunching is because of the undergarment I have on. It wasn''t smooth and bunched underneath - I have since gotten another. I am wearing heels in the pic - 4 inch ones.

The first thing I noticed was the how the style of your ring is reflected in the embroidery details on the bodice and train of your dred -- clearly, this is the right dress for you! It''s beautiful and you''re going to be a beautiful bride!

It looks lovely!!!! Maybe you can try it with some of that bust tape to pull the girls in a little.

The detailing from the embroidery to the red satin buttons is wonderful. i love the look of some color in wedding dresses. Right now, it still looks like the rib cage area all needs to come in. Either your new undergarments need to fill out the bust, or (and I think this is in addition) the bust needs to be taken in, so as to give you a cleaner line. It almost seems to high under your armpits.

VRBeauty - i agree. One of the reasons I loved it so much! Thank you.

princessplease This is before all alterations. I dont have to go for another fitting until Aug. So I''m in the process of losing some weight, and I think they need to add some cups or something here for me! the girls need some size boosting! lol

mayachel I think you are right on all accounts. There needs to be something there to help fill in AND it needs to be taken in. I also don''t think the woman laced me the best way either (the dress have a corset back) so maybe that will help too?

Thanks everyone for your opinion and help! I love the dress, but don''t really like me too much right now (hence the gym 3x a week and keeping track of everything I eat!)

RHB, a nubra Link may work wonderfully if you don''t want to have cups sewn in. But nonetheless, it looks lovely!!!!!!!

I''m sorry RHB!!! I''m sure the seamstress will make it look even more awesome on you than it already does!!! I''m curious though, any shoes yet???

I think that with alterations plus better undergarments the dress will be lovely - the dark red detail is really pretty

I love the detail too-stunning dress!

I think it''s beautiful on you! I actually tried on that dress, but it was after I''d already found *my* dress. It''s really gorgeous, you look great in it.

That''s nice to hear! I love the language and wish I spoke it more fluently. A podcast I listen to recently described Irish as being written like how you''d imagine writing out the sound of a cat attempting to cough up a furball

HAHAHAHAHA! That totally cracked me up!!!!
I had the fortunate opportunity to meet some people on the coast of France that still spoke old Gaelic. It was neat listening to them!

Neat! and thank you. Ive had this dress picked out for a long time, but when I went I tried on almost all of the Alfred Angelo color line. Still liked this one the best.

I tried on this dress as well as the rest of the Alfred Angelo color line. I ended up with the halter style with the corset back! Yours looks great on you!! How long did yours take to come in? I ordered on March 14 and still waiting

They told me the first week of June which is now, so hopefully this week sometime

Yes, this one has a corset back too, which I love. Thank you for the compliments! I ordered it last August and got it in the end of February. So almost 6 months!

Beautiful dress! It sounds like between the new undergarments and waiting until August you have it all under control. The only thing I see is that the dress might be a tiny bit too short with 4" heels. It''s hard to tell in the pictures, but you may want to let the dress out some.
