#JOTW 2.05 CBI from HPD

I love this! I've been wondering if CBIs are "worth it", and it seems like they are from what I can see. Incredible, congrats!

What a stunner! I love the ring that you chose, too.

Edit - I see now that it's the shape of the ring not the prongs themselves that give it a hexagonal look. I really like that.

I am around a size 8 1/2. at man hands.

That’s what I wondered too. I don’t want to wade into which super ideal is the best argument but this post works for me:

I feel so tempted to start a show me your man hands thread if I didn’t think some folks will want to kill me for saying that... I am really curious how big we need to go for a stone to look big you know? I think maybe 3 carats? 2 ct looks totally normalish to me. Or maybe my PS poison is really deep/bad... :oops2:

Gorgeous. I love the setting.

Wow. Gorgeous! Feels so romantic and looks amazing on you. Wear in health and happiness!:kiss2:

Love the floral halo!

Wow. I love that stone. I love the little peekaboo scalloped halo under the stone on the setting (stock stuller? With added pave?). It appears beautifully white sand clean to my eyes. Enjoy your new ring!

Total package of gorgeousness! Sparkly diamond in a beautiful setting. Love it!

Beautiful diamond and pretty ring. Congratulations.

Omg!!!!! IT'S FREAKING GORGEOUS!!!!!

So much fire!!!!

It looks soooo white and your setting is beautiful! They really did a fantastic job with the setting! Shows off the stone beautifully and looks so classy!!!!

Beautiful stone - and what a lovely setting!

Congratulations. :wavey:

Absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations, and feel free to post as many photos as you'd like!!

I think that setting is perfection for a gorgeous well cut diamond of that size and a good wearable low profile.

Looks great on you!

Beautiful!!!

Beautiful ring! So happy for you!

You made a great choice and the setting is perfect for your beautiful new diamond! I think it looks stunning on your hand - which is very lovely, I might add, don't sell yourself short!
I hope you enjoy your new ring and wear it in good health and happiness! :)

The stone and your ring is truly lovely! Do you think you'll be able to overcome the mind clean issues?

Thanks for your detailed breakdown about the CBI stone. I’m in a similar place where I’m comparing CBI stones between a bigger E SI1 with twinning wisps and a smaller G VS1 that looks definitely eye clean. I’m color sensitive too and struggle with mind clean, but size is important too, so it’s hard for me to make a decision. There is a stone in between ct sizes that’s F VS2 but it has an inclusion near the center of the table that would drive me crazy.

It looks beautiful on you - I hope you enjoy it and that the color/clarity don't bother you. It looks very pretty in the setting and on your hand!!

The stone and ring are very beautiful. :appl::appl::appl:Congratulations on such a gorgeous ring. I too hope that the inclusion and color became more acceptable in time. And there is always the upgrade option. :twisted2:

Ok back to post impressions after having it for about a week. Not a usual week though as I spent most of it travelling (or it feels that way since I literally spent almost 48 hours travelling) and not a much in the office which is where I imagine I will probably see the ring.

Color: honestly doesn’t bug me BUT I do wonder how I’ll feel if it’s next to an E so maybe I should have done the color test with a higher color after all... o_O that said right now I’m not adverse to sticking with a G color diamond when I upgrade so that speaks about how “white” it looks.

Clarity: ok this is where I am really surprised as I thought an eye clean SI2 won’t bug me BUT because I can see the crystal and twinning wisps in pics it actually bugs me more than I think it should. The “mind clean” thing I guess. Possibly I may feel less strongly about the clarity once I stop trying to take pics but for now I feel kinda disturbed when I see the inclusions. :confused2:

Cut: ok it is amazing. I was playing with it in the mall today as the fire was mesmerising.

Carat: DSS shouldn’t set it so fast but it has omg and I’m already plotting the next upgrade. Partly I suspect it’s the setting as I’m not attached to the setting... if i’d gone with a custom I think I would be more reluctant to change the ring. Possibly also I’m spending too much time on PS and the gorgeous 4 and 5 carats are killing my perspective lol.

Ummm ok that’s after a week... I’m wondering if being in office next week will change anything... you know, different lighting and all...

So I was at the fabulous Gardens by the Bay this morning and took the opportunity to take some flower pics :kiss2:

Honestly much harder than I thought as the diamond goes all blindingly white half the time even if the sunlight is a little stronger.

Thankfully most people were also taking selfies or pics with the fabulous flower displays and no one really noticed a crazy lady snapping pics of her ring (or at least that’s what I hoped)...

Oh ya, and fire too

My 4 yo loaned me his car and tried to help with the set up. Such a sweetheart

And the Gardens was great. Really enjoyed this month’s theme (the flower dome exhibit changes every 1-2 months)

And I’m as usual amazed by the artificial waterfall and hill in the Cloud Forest

Your ring is absolutely gorgeous and I love all of your photos!! In response to your earlier post, I can certainly understand DSS (to be completely honest I think that happens to the vast majority of us!), and of course it is understandable that everyone has their preferences with regard to color and clarity (after all, "eye clean" is easier to achieve than "mind clean!"), but one of the wonderful things about HPD is that you can always trade up to any stone (or combination of stones!) that is the slightest amount higher in price. This is a far more flexible upgrade policy than most vendors offer. So if at some point you decide that you want to go higher in clarity, color, and/or clarity, you have unlimited upgrade possibilities in the future! But you already have the most important "C" covered, as the cut of your stone is just AMAZING!! Truly, it is a beauty. I love the photo with your son's car as well! Absolutely adorable!!
