5-stone sapphire trellis ring project with Michael E

Oh, that's not bad at all! I can't wait to see your finished ring. :)

The new CAD is perfect. I thought this was what I drew up/edited and Michael said it isn't doable? Well, it doesn't matter now anyway because this is exactly what I had hoped is possible. :appl:

Thanks to you guys and the advice to make the wires flow more nicely, here is the latest rendering. I absolutely love everything about it, and think that the whole thing looks more fluid and curved the way I wanted it :)

To me it looks that way too--but he did say he was going to play with the proportions some more and see how much he would have to raise it in order to make this possible. So it seems like he was able to do that successfully :appl: He managed to only raise it a bit, which is fine with me, overall I'm thrilled. You were certainly a super helpful part of this process, chrono! I appreciate you taking time to help!

The CAD looks perfect!! What an amazing project. I am already looking forward to see more updates and the real thing.

Not so much not doable, just that I had thought that it would need to be raised too much for comfort. Your sketch kept poking me as I was doing other things and so I thought, "Well let's see just how little I can raise this and get some better curves on those wires." As it turns out you were right, it only needed to be raised by about .7mm in order to get a much smoother bend in the wires. Thanks for the poke Chrono!

This is the very first design for a trellis ring that I have ever liked. I am now very excited to see the final ring. Great job Lovedogs and Michael E

Wow! The new cad looks great!

IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE!!!! Hooray, my ring is finally here, and arrived at my work today. I've taken tons of pics, but sadly can't quite capture the center stone's blue flash, so it looks more black than it does to my eye in real life. Here is my giant picture drop!

More pics because I can't help myself

Yay lovedogs. What an elegant ring. I think the ring came out great and most importantly you love it!!! I can see the green flashes in the center stone. Must be beautiful in person. The trellis design came out even better than I expected. I really like the milgrain and the "wires" are so graceful

Congratulations!!

What a stunning ring! I love the detailing of the wires and milgrain as well as the combination of the center stone and side stones. I love the green hue in the center. Enjoy wearing your new ring!

Oh.. a double post...
Good reason to emphasize that I love your ring

Thanks Acinom and Sungura! I'm going to try to get some pics in the sun today, since I look forward to seeing how the center stone looks in natural light :) I am loving it thus far, and it is comfortable and not too high off my finger (at least for my own comfort level).

It's lovely and I'm so glad you're pleased with it.

I didn't chime in earlier because I actually love having trellis creating Vs so I was struggling with the U shaped concept as my brain wasn't working that way. It certainly does look very nice indeed and I'm sure you'll enjoy wearing it.

I love it! Swoopy elegance- wow! Looking forward to more pice- beautiful ring.

Looks awesome!

Quick question for a size reference for myself.
What ring size are you?

Jajabis I am a size 7.

And finally some daytime pics!

Lovedogs, your new ring is beautiful! :appl: It turned out great! I love the way the design flows and the milgrain is so pretty! :wavey:

Yay!!! It is on your finger and looks so fabulous!

Somehow I missed the Reveal - but I just wanted to say - lovely ring!!!!

Oh, it's done already? The last few pictures are wonderful. It's such a unique ring. :appl:

Thanks SapphireStyle and Chrono! I appreciate your kind words :wavey:

I love this ring and wear it almost every day. I sometimes wish the flash of color in the middle stone happened more often (e.g. the stone was brighter), but I know this way saved me lots of $$, and I am hoping when DH and I move to Southern CA in a few months the sun will encourage it to flash more vs. the northeast weather we have now

The ring is beautiful! I especially like the touch of green (on my monitor) that I see in your Aussie sapphire.

I am headed to Australia for December, and your ring has inspired me to look for an Aussie sapphire!

ohhhh sounds good SapphireStyle! I'm excited to see what you find when you're there! And thank you LisaRN for the compliment!

sapphirestyle hope you find a pretty Aussie sapphire during your trip. Great opportunity to see the stones in person since they are generally darker

lovedogs I'm so glad you are enjoying your 5 stone ring. You put a lot of thought into the flow and details. It's great it gets worn so often. I do think it will be brighter in San Diego. Though I love living in the northeast I am often disappointed when I fall in love with something colorful in a tropical climate (painting, scarf, whatever) and the color looks so different in our sun here. We need a mini CS GTG up here to see your beauties before they move to the other coast ;-)
