Rosebloom, I have spent much time looking at your spectacular engagement ring. I have wavered between a modified butterfly setting like yours and the basic 4 claws around the sapphire. This is part of the reason I am meeting my jeweller on Tuesday. I can see the four claw version and make certain I am happy with it. My diamonds aren't quite as wonderful as yours. I am reusing the sides from my original three stone sapphire and diamond engagement ring. They aren't quite PS standard, but they are a decent cut and sparkle quite well. The shank of my ring will be yellow gold and the head is platinum.

BTW, I have a five stone trellis ring also with .43 and .44 cert.diamonds. I saw yours in your photos. We really are twins!

I am probably going to need a new band next. I usually wore my engagement ring with a channel set band with .2 diamonds, but I think this will be too much with my new ering. Think I will move it to my right hand with the five stone and think about something new for the Ering. I have a plain gold 3 mm band I can wear in the meantime.

Discovering Pricescope has been really hard on my budget!

Thank you for the kind words!! I'm going to have to follow you to see what "we'll" be getting next!

I love the idea of a YG shank. That sounds amazing! I can't wait to see this ring!

Wow, that is large, I can't wait to see it set.

Wow what a stunner! The color is to die for.

Rose bloom, you can bet I will be following you! I would quote you, but I havent quite figured out how!

Wow, Jeff White has cut some of my favorite sapphires on this forum. Lucky!

That is such a beautiful stone!

Great news! I just returned from my jeweller where I got to check out the unpolished setting. He nailed it. It is perfectly symmetrical and matches my specifications exactly. I love the simple trellis setting. My husband thinks I'm nuts as at the moment it is completely unpolished and the prongs are standing straight up - but I can tell it's perfect. The ring is actually going to be completed today - but we are not picking it up until tomorrow as the jeweller is arranging for a photo or two to be taken. I am soooo excited I can't work!!!! :D

In the meantime, I tried to capture the colour with my phone with the stones just sitting in the unfinished setting.

Rosebloom, This is for you, just to show you we really are twins. Here is my five stone. (I have been wearing it on my left hand with a band while my new ering is in production).

EEEEEEEE! So excited for you! And Pics!

It's beautiful! Trellis rings would have to be my favourite ring style and the proportions of your ring are perfect!

Thanks again all!
I have learned so much from all of you in this Forum. My lovely sapphire is now set. You can check her out in the Show Me the Bling section. I don't yet know how to link the two threads.

I can't stop staring at my finger. I actually have to put the ring away until Christmas Eve which is exactly 10 years from my husband's proposal, but it is hard to take it off!
