setting was $800, and i think the center came out to $1300 ish for a total of $2300. yekutiel is an interesting guy, maybe i'm just not used to NYC diamond district. anyways, i found a nice halo pave setting that i was satisfied with, and i'm positive she's gonna be happy. the center stone was nice as well, eye clean and it looks good to me.

Well, here it is! My Victor Canera Dual Shank Halo Solitaire in platinum! Each individual shank is 1.7 mm and the halo itself is 1.4 mm, all hand forged. It is composed of 0.85 ctw of single cut diamond melee--I think the single cuts complement my 1.9 ct RB diamond rather well!

This ring also sits flush w/ my other diamond pave eternity bands. It's possible to wear them all together for a more bling bling effect!

It was definitely a pleasure working w/ Victor once again! He is very personable and a true artisan of his craft! I hope to collaborate w/ him on many more projects in the future!

It's an unbelievable ring!!!

My cute little rhodolite garnet ring. I wear it as a right hand ring but I'm not good at taking photos with my left hand. ::)

The ring arrived this morning and I was so estatic!

Diamond Stats:
1.07 AVC J I1 (eye-clean except for that I can see the feather in certain lighting if I stick my face 3 inches away from the diamond, which won't happen on a regular basis >:P )
6.18 X 6.10 mm

Ring Stats:
Rose Gold (14k for a pinker tone) and platinum for the gallery and shank.
Size 4.25 (to accommodate for stacking rings) but really am a 3.5

I must really thank Erica for putting up with the PITA that I am .. changing the CADs about a bazillion times and pestering her with endless questions and concerns. Jewels by Erica Grace provided excellent service and my fiance and I are totally enamored with the setting!

Hi everyone!
I have been a fan for a long time, and now I finally get to share not only my good news, but my gorgeous new ring! My fiance proposed to me on December 30, 2011 at the site of our first official date 8 years ago. After the proposal, he surprised me even further by taking me to Single Stone where I eventually selected my dream ring. Single Stone did a fantastic job with my ring, and after 1 month of patient anticipation, I finally have my engagement ring. I couldn't be happier, and can't help but share my joy with all of you!

My ring:
Single Stone style #NLR07-71-4
It is set in a white gold mounting, with a light milgrain bezel setting for the center stone.

Center Stone:
Carat: .94
Shape and cut: Old European Cut
Color: J
Clarity: VS2
Size: 6

WOAAAAAAAAA! That is stunning! Did I miss the individual thread on that? Great set!

Thanks Amy and Sarah!
Everyone's rings are so beautiful. i cannot stop looking at all the rings on this site - it is addictive!
i actually have to thank pricescope and lotsofsparkle for my e-ring. i was looking on her thread 2 years ago when i knew the bf was starting to look at e-rings and was drooling over her ring. He actually took the pics of it and had a jeweler make it. they did an amazing job down to the side details. For our one year anniversary and christmas he have me an upgraded wedding band :) since i told him not to buy one for our wedding. I figured this would be the best time to finally post on pricescope since this site is the reason i got my dream ring! :)

And I love her.
I posted in the Show Me the Bling forum, but thought I'd post her here, too. I'd been waiting to join the ranks of the Pricescoper's (been lurking for over 4 years..) until I had an old stone to share (well, any stone for that matter ), and on Christmas, I finally got it. So here she is:

"A transitional cut diamond of about .20 carats (H-I color; VS1-SI1 clarity) with a white gold collet surrounded by twelve (12) shaped sapphires. Wings of white gold accent each shoulder with a triangle shaped sapphire." from The Three Graces.

I bought this in 2005....just because I felt like it! It's from the jewellery quarter in my home town in England, and the jeweller possesses some old Art Deco jewellery moulds. He makes new jewellery from the Art Deco moulds, so although the pieces are new they have a heritage look. I also have a beautiful gold and diamond Art Deco bracelet from him, covered in an earlier thread of mine.

This ring is too big and the citrine is loose. I need to get it altered and repaired. It's got amazing sparkles though - shame the camera can't catch that!

So as I mentioned earlier, most of my trips to the diamond district are centered around finding settings for colored stones, and wouldn't you know it - IDJ had the most beautiful, delicate halo setting that happened to fit one of my stones. The 2.83ct Uruguay amethyst is 9x9mm and faceted by Gary Braun, and the delicious prongs were done by IDJ - both are exquisite and I couldn't be more pleased! For colored stones, finding a setting is only half the battle - a skilled bench can be even more elusive, and I'm very impressed with IDJ's.

I'd have any purchase from The Three Graces inspected carefully. I bought a ring from them last month, took it to an independent appraiser who informed me - shockingly - that all the sapphires were fake. Couldn't believe it but I saw the bubbles under the microscope myself (from the flame fusion process). I went back to the site where the ring was described and sure enough it said "natural sapphires."

We were suppose to get engaged last night, but something came up beyond my control and I had to postpone it. I'm proposing tomorrow! But I wanted to share the final product with everyone.

THANK YOU MARK @ ERD.

Also, excuse my hairy fingers in the shots.

*NOTE:* In some of the pictures the diamond looks yellow, but I assure you it is very white. Some of the shots are taken in a bathroom with a huge sandstone granite counter-top and the diamond is picking up the hues and reflection of light from the granite.

Hi All,

Well... I finally got it! My bee-yoo-tee-ful Oscar Heyman engagement/wedding ring! I haven't posted pictures yet because I can't seem to get any really good pictures, despite following the directions in "how to take good pictures of your diamonds" and using 3 different cameras and 2 different phones. Sigh. Anyway, I didn't want to wait any longer, so I'm going to post them anyway.

Back story... this is a second marriage for both myself and my soon-to-be husband. Combined we have 4 awesome kids (ages 10, 11, 12, 12) and are so incredibly lucky to have found one another and have a second chance. We are getting married in exactly one month and one day on the gorgeous island of St. Martin... just the 6 of us and 2 of our best friends. (Big reception at home in the summer).

Now about the ring: We commissioned the artisans at Oscar Heyman to handcraft my ring. Our experience with them (and Graham Jewelers in Wayzata, MN!) was second to none. They were an absolute pleasure! Here are the stats on my ring:

So here are the specifications. The centre stone is RB 1.62 ct D Si1 GIA cert triple ex, with the side stones being 0.4ct each D-E VVS, with 0.92 malee F colour.

The photos really don't do it justice (especially as my photographic skills are dubious) - as it so much more amazing in person. Here is the you tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3wj1uwzDYI

I have been working with Mike from Robinson Designer Goldsmith (http://www.rdg.co.nz) for over a year now to create this ring. When I say 'working with', I really mean 'hassling him about tiny details and generally being annoying', and to his credit, he has been nothing but patient with me the entire time. He has such a passion for what he does, and real artistic ability, and I feel incredibly lucky to have him create this ring for me. I don't think that I'm ever going to get used to looking down and seeing it on my finger. It's certainly one way to ward off DSS!

After a number of frustrating attempts

See https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/aaaaaaahhhhhh-i-cannot-upload-my-new-vc-pictures.172691/

I have finally been able to upload a number of my pictures. I took hundreds, narrowed it down to around 50 , but will upload them as and when I can. Whilst they may look similar and not up to the standard of my inspiration, I thought they might hep someone.

Here is Frankiextah's original

Hope you enjoy the pictures. once I have exhausted that avenue, I will give a short run down on the process. It was straightforward and wonderful. Victor, is simply a darling!!!!

Hi all. I have become addicted to this forum, it's so fun to see what new is added every day!

For fun I thought I'd share a vintage Cartier ring I bought several years ago. I believe it's genuine but I guess have no way of knowing for sure. The hallmark is slightly worn and in the all caps Cartier logo you see in some of their vintage pieces. The inflated appraisal it came with says the center oval is 1.35 cts, G color but I think it's more like an I because the center can look yellow next to the whiter halo diamonds. The bowtie if pretty noticeable. The surrounding diamonds are about 0.08 cts each, 0.95 total. The ring sparkles beautifully in the right lighting.

My EC e-ring is being re-set right now so I've been wearing this one more. These photos aren't the best (I think I need more light), but this is practice for when I get my new ring back. The hand shot shows it as a RHR, size 6 on a 5.5 finger. Platinum with a knife edge shank. Thanks for looking!

I just wanted to show you the first picture I have of my future wedding ring. I’m from Sweden, and here we usually have a very simple engagement ring and spend the most money on the wedding ring. I cheated a little bit and had a 0.45 ct solitaire with side stones as my engagement ring (profile pic) but felt that I wanted to put more money and effort into the wedding ring since that is regarded as the more important ring here. I decided to make a three stone ring with the 0.45 as one of the side stones because then I could start from scratch but could still keep the sentimental things from my engagement ring.

So a three stone ring with 0.45 side stones it is and it made it quite difficult to choose a center stone because I wanted something that would be quite much larger compared to the side stones and the original wedding budget included just a plain band. Since I love halos, I decided that was an easy way to enhance the size of the center. I had a hard time choosing between a cushion, pear or oval but in the end GOG helped me pick a pear.

Then I needed a setting. I looked on tons of three stone rings but three stone rings with a pear is not that common and especially not with halos. I wanted a ring with a vintagey feeling and I fell in love when I first saw James Meyers style. Since I had my own diamonds and some were already in Sweden there was no option but to make the ring here. I brought some inspiration pictures of a James Meyer three stone ring to my jeweller and pictures of some halos I loved and hoped they could make something with even the slightest resemblance. That type of workmanship is no longer common in Sweden since 99% buys plain bands or diamond bands. I was quoted 2700 (gold not included) for the work and all the melees. 600 of this was the cost for creating the setting and the rest for setting the stones.

Today I was asked to come and have a look at the finished setting to approve it before the stones were set. I have so far one picture of the naked setting that doesn’t show all the details but it looks exactly as the pictures I brought and sketches I made. It was a talented young girl in her mid twenties that had created the setting. She had hand forged it and it took an entire week meaning that the initial quote of 600 for the work increased to 3700 and a total cost of 5800. They still promised to honour their first quote though. Lucky me that they don’t do this kind of rings often enough to be able to more accurately determine the time.

The stones are floating over the band very similar to James Meyer’s style but the halo has some more reinforcements. It is connected to the band with gold shaped to an M, since that is the first letter in my fiancées name. All the large stones will be bezel set which I think is important to tie the style together.

Everything will be finished in two weeks and I’m really excited, however my wedding day is in May so it is still quite a while before I can wear it. In the end I would like to have two rings for the “married look” but I have no idea what will fit because the halo will hide most part of an additional band.
