your dress is gorgeous, who is the designer?! It fits you beautifully

The dress was from Anjolique''s Couture collection. I waffled back and forth between loving it and not being very sure (I literally packed all of my dress shopping into one day--I must have tried on 50 dresses that day!) because I had so little time to shop, but the day of I LOOOOVED it. And that''s the only day that really matters, haha.

I forget the style number, but I know that at least one other PSer had this dress in her final three. There is another PSer who tried on an Anjolique gown that is nearly identical--just a bit less beading on the bust.

Hey NEL, was your wedding somewhere on Cape Ann?

Beautiful pics, NEL, can''t believe those are non-pro''s!!!! Best wishes to you, you made such a gorgeous bride and I LOVED the pic of you and your DH and the black dog on the rocks. Wow!

Oh woweee- you looked so beautiful! Your dress is gorgeous, so lovely, soft and elegant! - Congratulations, you and you hubby both look so happy and at peace! Such a beautiful location as well! Boy that''s one thing about Toronto we just don''t have beautiful spots like that!!! Thanks for sharing and please don''t be shy to post the details and MORE photos.

Hi again,

My sister would like to know if it''s the Anjolique Couture number# 930 ?

I just wanted to add that your dog is also very handsome! hee-hee!

Selkie--The wedding was held in Cohasset, MA in a private estate. We rented the main house for my immediate family (parents and siblings) and my aunts, uncles and cousins all stayed in a converted boat house. My MOH and her sister stayed in a little cabin on the property, so everybody was together the whole time--they''re all from the midwest and having them there for nearly a week was SO MUCH FUN!! Honestly, the wedding was just icing on the cake, haha. The whole event was really laid back and perfect for us.

Ries--Yep, I''m almost positive that it''s the Anjolique #930. I bought it back in March when it had only been out for a week, but now that it''s been out for a bit I think you can find it at a discount.

Our dog was great--it was so important to us to have him there. We actually invited everybody''s dog to come, so there were about 4 dogs there and we loved it. Our #1 priority was a pet-friendly venue. It turned out wonderfully.

Wow I can''t believe the rock picture isn''t a professional shot!

The cake looked delish! and I definintely love the something blue shoes!!

I just showed my hubby the location and we both think is amazing! It''s also a bonus that they''re dog friendly....would love to visit this beautiful location in the future! Congratulations and best wishes!!!!

hi again, I''ve done a little research on my sister''s behalf...it appears that the prices she got was 1250 US - is this a bad price?

Nope, that''s a very good price! I think it retailed for $1,800 and I negotiated it down to $1,650. The dress was only out for a couple of weeks, so I had little room to negotiate--I started seeing it listed on alternative wedding gown sites for $1,250 around August, so it sounds like she got the discount price I was seeing.

FYI, my alterations were $550 or $600. The other quotes I got for alterations were $650 and $700--it is a difficult dress to alter--I had the bust and hips taken in, the bottom hemmed, cups inserted and the dress steamed (though that was free).

I love that you had your dog there! Seriously, girl, when I close my eyes and picture my ideal beach side wedding, I see yours.

It was absolutely beautiful!

Yeah, having our dog there was our #1 priority. I wish we had more pictures with him. There are a couple of really good professional shots of him, but I don''t have them on this computer. The owners of the estate were dog-lovers, which worked in our favor. My whole family stayed there the entire week and I had everybody bring their dogs--I think there were 4 dogs there and they all had a great time playing in the ocean and running around.

We played wiffle ball (for the rehearsal dinner), swam in the ocean, played with the dogs, enjoyed the scenery, shopped at the boutiques in the town center, had dinner with family every night--it was just one of the best weeks of my life. The wedding couldn''t have been any better. I can still feel the excitement, I can hear the guitar player and the seagulls as I was walking up the stone steps. I can remember D''s face, I remember how it felt when I looked out at our families during the ceremony and being so thankful that they were part of something so important to us. I remember them all crying as I thanked them. And the weather! It was amazing! We were so lucky!

Everybody had such an amazing time that we''re planning another trip, sans a wedding this time :) We''re all going to sit down at Thanksgiving and decide where to rent a house for a week so we can do it again next fall. Everybody just had a wonderful time.

I must agree with misysu2 - if I could get married all over again I would love to be in your shoes! Seems like an oasis! Away from the hussle and buzzle and more romance! I really wanted my yorkie to be the ring boy - we even bought him a tie (hee-hee!) but I was told that he was not a guest at the Castle!...I think he would have been better behaved-manners than some of our guests...ha ha ha!

Thank you also for letting me know about the cost...I''ll let her know that it''s a good price. She''s a little torn between a size 8 and 6 and is buying it online from a dealer. Wondering...Was your original dress size true to it''s size or a little snug? I''m not always sure about designer dresses. I was thinking that she should get the 8 and get it altered but it seems that it''s expensive...

Any-whooooo...if you have any more pictures - anything at all...please share.

Do you happen to know her measurements? I wear a 2/4 in street clothes and ordered a size 8 and wish I''d ordered a 6. The issue is that I have no waist, so I have a 34 inch bust (size 4 in bridal size), 36 inch hips (size 4 in bridal size) and a 27 inch waist (size 8 in bridal size). I was right on the fence between a 6 and an 8 and decided to go with an 8 because I wanted to make sure the dress wasn''t too tight in the waist--the salesperson at the boutique where I ordered it figured it would be easy to take the bust and hips in. In the end it looked great, but the 6 would have definitely fit in the waist and I wouldn''t had to have had so many other alterations. There is a built-in corset under the dress that really sucks you in and keeps everything in place.

If she''s a 2/4 in street clothes, I''d say go with the 6. If she''s closer to a size 6, then an 8 would be better. The best thing to do is take her measurements and use this size chart:

So glad I found this thread again-your dress is the one that I''ve been dreaming about for the past few weeks from the anjolique website! Can I just ask you was it comfy on the day? Anything you would change about it? On the website I thought it might have been a bit too sexy but I think it''s just the way that the model is standing because it looks absolutely fab on you!

Hey, bee! I went through this whole roller coaster of loving my dress when I ordered it, then not knowing if I made the right decision, then hating my dress when I found out the alterations were going to be expensive. But when it was altered and I put it on for the first time, I did not have a single doubt. The day of my wedding I loooooooooooved it when I put it on. It felt so couture and I felt so feminine in it. I wouldn''t have chosen a different dress looking back.

I''m not a naturally curvy kind of gal, so I think that''s why a mermaid shape looked a bit less sexy. The model on the website is definitely curvy!

thanks for replying. I haven''t tried on any dress yet but it is definitely one of my faves. I know that when I try it on I will obviously get a better idea of it, but my reservations are at the moment, although I''m not overweight, I definitely have curves and also I''m only 5ft 4 and I''m not sure if a mermaid gown would suit me. I absolutely adore it though!

Yeah, you''ll know when you try it on, there''s no other way to tell. I was a bit worried that in my photos everybody would look solely at my hips, haha. I''m only 5'' 3", so I was also worried about height since I think the shape works so well on taller women. My solution? 4 inch heels. You''ll look great in anything!

I''m definitely planning on getting high-heels too! The higher the better! Thanks a million for all the info!
