And the Benitoites. They look slightly more purple in person.
These just look awesome. They are eye catchers despite their small size.

Kismet, your stones are gorgeous, I love the colors.

I received the BB green tourmaline today and it is gorgeous. This is the first time I have seen one of Barry''s stones in person and it is amazing. Unfortunately, I think I am going to end up sending it back because it''s just a little too small for what I had planned to do with it (LOGR setting). The stone is 6.1 mm cushion, and I was planning to have the setting custom made smaller, but seeing it in person I think it''s just a little too small for my personal style (It''s my first loose colored gem purchase and now I think I have a much better sense of size than I did before). I tend toward chunkier things and I am afraid the ring would end up too dainty for my tastes. I am very sad to give it up though, I am going to ask Barry if he could cut me the same thing in a larger size because I am in love with this color and cut. I am posting pics as promised, although I stink at taking them.

One more on my hand to get a sense of size.

Can you make those bigger NB?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this: *heaven*

It'll go nicely with the colours of my wedding (peach). I just need to find earrings to go with it. Any suggestions?

Linda W: I LOVE the stone in your avatar. If you dont mind me asking, what kind of a stone is it? It's the exact colour I'm looking for!

Awesome stones, Babyblue.

Lots of fun setting projects coming up at some point. Looking forward to them.

Babyblue I love your rainbow.

My stone shipped yesterday, and my LOGR setting today. Fingers crossed they both arrive quickly. The setting only took 5 days and was customised to fit the stone, much better than the two week estimate.

I am about to finish the transaction on this little guy . . .

Lauren,

Did Barry cut that for you?
Yup, when I emailed him the other day. It''s just a hair under 7 mm, so it''ll be perfect for my last LOGR Legacy.

Hi, long time lurker who is getting into colored stones. There are some beautiful stones in this thread. I purchased a pair of bright yellow Mali grossular/andradite garnets => link They are gorgeous. Barry Bridgestock said that the stones are really bright--lots of dispersion under a clearbulb or in direct sunlight; and he was totally right. I think I am starting to fall in love with garnets.

Looks like they are already set as simple studs?

Thank you, Linda W. They are set into YG Stuller scroll earrings and will be a gift. I am contemplating my next purchase for me!

HA!!!, oh good grief, that is what I get for not having my glasses on!!!!!! They are beautiful.

My 4.71 ct garnet arrived today. It rained all day, so I ended up doing a photoshoot under my GE Reveal light bulb. The stone looks lovely and sparkly, and has lots of color.

Barry also sent me the results of some gemological studies of my new garnet.

"R.I.---1.745 S.G.--3.85 Absorption--strong bands at 500,530 and 580. It was
pink/red under the Chelsea, indicating the presence of chrome and showed no anomalous
double refraction. All this would probably put it in the pyrope category, except that the
3.85 S.G. rules this out. It''s not dense enough for almandine, so it''s probably a transition
pyrope/almandine,although the absorption spectrum was different from the other pyrope/al-
mandines I studied. This sort of variation really makes garnets fun to study."

I like this shot because I got a bit of the blue flash.
