There should be an emoticon where you bang your head against a wall.

It's a solasfera, it's amazing, buy and be happy!
Haha sorry! This is my first time experience with diamond, therfore wanna be sure if I am paying for something that worth it! Hehe don't see a lot people buying solasfera on this forum, why is that so?

If solasfera is so great like what you guys describe, why I don't see many people buying it? Because they don't like the extra facet?

Any nice ring box that will make a solasfera stands out? Looking for a nice ring box.

Why do you not see many Solasfera rings here? It's probably just personal preference. Personally, I prefer fatter arrows on my H&A stones. And in the past few years, GoodOldGold and now a few other vendors have created different cutting styles that mimic the chunky facets of Old European Cut and Old Mine Cut diamonds, but have the great light performance of today's modern RB diamonds. Cut styles go in and out of fashion. The Solasfera isn't out of fashion, but it's probably not very widely known, so not as many people will deliberately seek it. I don't recall seeing Solasfera heavily advertised in bridal and fashion magazines. Probably few people in the market for an engagement ring have even heard of a Solasfera.

That stone looks great. :D

It's ok, i'm just joking with you :) You can ask as much as you want, people respond if they want to.

I guess it's because it's expensive. For me personally, even if I got the dullest cut diamond in the world, the people around my FF would probably not know the difference. They'd all go wow because it's huge.

There's the very realistic chance she could hold her ring next to a very well cut diamond and say hmm why doesn't my diamond sparkle? That and also a lot of people here only buy 1 diamond in their life, or this is the first ever big diamond they bought. Most here buy online too. They don't want to risk it being dull.

So personally I got a great cut diamond, that's good clarity, and as big as I can afford (or is sensible). I know it will be comparable or better than any diamonds my FF has in her circle, so i'm happy and I know she will be. Even if you look at that video the difference between the ideal and the solasfera is not that huge to someone who doesn't know about diamonds, and even more so in normal light conditions.

Also remember the 'best' diamonds in her circle will probably be super amazing cuts from dabeers or cartier or tiffany. Those are still not as bright as a solasfera.

There's nothing at all wrong with wanting a solasfera, but for most people it's just one step too far and too much of a compromise on size (because of the price).

^^^ that is the reason most people here don't buy them (in my opinion), and has no bearing on if you should or shouldn't buy one.

For some, yes, for others because it's branded, and they don't want to pay the premium. I wear a Star129, from the original cutter which comes at a premium as well, but I am less impressed with the current stock, in part due to the lower clarity rough they start from. But I liked the modified rounds like these. I am a minority around here.

Rhino gave you the green light, as did the rest of us. That one heart might be "off" only because of the angle of the photo. Those have to be set up and taken by a human, and no human can get straight on all the time.

Thank you everyone for being so helpful! Really appreciate it! =)

Anyone know where to buy nice ring box? Thanks!

Define "nice"? Did the jeweler not provide one?
