Oh AJ, this is beeeeeeeyoooooooooooooooooooootiful!!!! I cannot believe it''s an M
30.gif
There''s just something special about these old cuts, isn''t there?

I agree with everyone else. Please share more pics!!!!

Beautiful! Many rings here on PS stand out, but yours especially does. . .I wish I could see it in person!

I am floored by this stone. Its awesome and then some. LOVE IT!!!
30.gif

Wow, this has been just such an overwhelming response. You guys are the best!

Thankyou very much
dragonfly
Thankyou LTP!
Cheers Ms. Halo,, I actually have to agree with you, and I''m digging the word "fabulous"
5.gif

Sparkly Libra, lol you''re a crackup...Thankyou.

Hi CBL, really lovely comments thanks!

Hi Joelly, if you really love these you should go for it, judging from your reaction I don''t
think you''ll regret it. Thankyou for all your kind compliments.

Hey Deco - wow, now that''s a compliment! I love your description "pastel light show", spot on. rofl, squueelightful, I like it.
9.gif
thankyou matey.

Hey Chrono, cheers for doing that hon. Wow, it''s even less than I expected. Yep, these girls certainly don''t take any type of performance hit due to the lesser depths, and from my personal experience they seem to be just as spready as ideal cut RB''s. Nice!

Hello Luckyeshe, that''s very kind of you, I''m glad you enjoyed the pics. If the sun stays out today I will try for a couple more.

I love that this stone is NOT icy white; it''s ability to ''glow'' in a variety of ways depending upon the light source is its most wonderful feature! And that just enhances how well it looks in a YG setting, IMO.

Once again, you have impeccable taste.
2.gif

Ha ha Holly, yes no ICY WHITE DIAMONDS for me, rofl..
I love my lower colours, for exactly the reasons you''ve described.

Actually, funny story when this diamond first came from the cutting house it was slated as
an L, before it went off to GIA, and then it came back graded as an M.
tbh, I was secretly hoping it would come back M, as both mine and Fi''s last name''s begin with M, so it makes
it that lil bit more special - some might think me weird, but I wasn''t disappointed at all it was a "lower" grade,
actually really happy!

Hi Linda, that''s alot of love smileys, tee hee..thankyou hon for your compliments.

Hey Tgal, thankyou, me too.

Thankyou kindly
Yimmers

and Maisie bruddah, lol...I know, I thought my photos may need some more "contrast" lol

Fantastic AJ!!

So sorry that you have been having work troubles, but I am glad you will be attending university to get on a career path that you will enjoy. I think it was so wonderful that you placed your relationship before your ring. It is clear that you were rewarded for your intentions, as your new stone is absolutely beautiful! I also agree that it looks perfect on your hand. The setting is beautify, but I am biased, as I love the WF Legato...hehe.

Hats off to GOG for not only honoring their policy, but also for going above and beyond to ensure that you ended up with a wonderful stone in the end.

Hi Omie,
thanks hon, for all of your kind comments. That''s a nice way to look at it, about the intentions.
1.gif

Yeah, I had been at uni part time, always trying to make it work around my job, but I''ve decided
to go in the other direction - hopefully it will work out better now.
5.gif

My hat is also def. off to GOG, I can''t say enough good things about them.

Wow I just caught up on this thread - and I LOVE your stone! I have an antique OEC, and I luffs it too, but THIS is fantastic! Hey do you by chance have the link to your ''spec page'' on GOG? I''m curious to see the ASET, etc on it!

Hi ecf,
Thankyou, I''m trying to catch up myself, lol..
I also have a transitional diamond in a pendant that I love and is a great performer, but this cushion blows
even that one away.

I just checked and looks like my spec page has been changed to a new diamond listing, but I can post the details of the sarin here for you if you like? I would say the aset would be extremely similiar to the other OMC''s currently
on GOG''s site, I''m sorry but I only have those images in hard copy..Just let me know what you''d like to see

It is, of course, an absolutely stunning stone and your pics are just to die for! I loved your RB too though.

I understand your reasons and certainly have a great deal of admiration for your downgrade; however - if money was no object, would you prefer this cut over the H&A round? Or are they just too different to pick a fav?

Enjoy every minute of the stone - it is a winner for sure!!!
36.gif

Hey Miss Got Rocks,
tbh, and in short, no actually.!
Even with the smaller size and lower colour, after wearing this diamond for a couple days, and especially after doing the photo shoot, it has become my clear fave.

I''m not going to say I wasn''t apprehensive over changing from my RB, as I really did love that diamond too - I thought I would really miss my arrows.
But soon as I received this one any of those concerns disappeared.
5.gif

They are of course really very different cuts, and I won''t say they''re for everyone.
But with my RB, I had always longed for some chunkier facets/fire, so I think this is just more my flavour.

Ellen will be back in a day or 2 Bruddah!

There isn''t a huge difference between them for face up size.

There doesn''t seem to be right Loz..?

Here''s a more ''real life'' perpective shot...

Be honest, as my opinion is clearly pretty skewed
2.gif
..but personally I would''ve thought

a 1ct fancy to look a lil smaller on the hand..what do you think?

I think it looks ''just right''..(of course, tee hee)..

It looks perfect and really hardly any smaller than Perry! It doesn''t look much smaller to me.

ha ha, I can''t believe you remembered that! - so Indra beats Perry, rofl..

Oh my gosh - I love, love, love your new diamond!!!!!! It looks fantastic with a yellow gold shank. When I saw your pictures on this post I realized that I just have to have one of those - it''s so beautiful.

Thank you so much for showing us how amazing these stones are. I know that now I am hooked. I always wanted an OMC for forever, and now I have the ability to just pick and choose a new ;) one.

Enjoy!

I absolutely love your new stone! I had to pop over to GOG''s site to see what else they had available that I could stick on my wish list.

I prefer OMCs over RBs because I think OMCs have so much more character. I have a really tough time thinking of your new ring as a ''downgrade.'' =)

Hey rockpaper,
thankyou! I know that Jon is having a new batch of these cut as we speak, so you should keep
an eye on the site (or preferably email him), if you''re keen.
Most of the diamonds from the last order didn''t even make it to the site before they were snaffled up!
You''re correct that it does have a whole lot more character.
5.gif

And yes, that 2.46 is a real stunner - have you seen Jon''s video of it?

Thankyou for your comments
Choro, ha ha..

Thanks Pwendyp, and
still waiting !

Hey Dani, thankyou. Yup, here''s the link for you (but there is a check box for OMC under search diamonds
function)

Ha ha, thanks Callisto - and I saw your post over in LIW. I hope you have one coming your way soon

Hey Kate, thankyou! Yes, as you know there are all sorts of shipping, insurance and customs dramas that can ensue when buying from the US. Having gone through that a couple times already, I really didn''t have the patience or energy for it again.
Thankfully, Vicki really came to my rescue and handled everything on that end, making it run super smooth with both the return and new diamond''s entry. That was a huge relief!

Hey hlmr, thanks! That''s good as I love your RB in return
3.gif

Hi carey, thankyou very much. If I do upgrade again, it will have to be to a bigger one of these beauties, for sure. But very happy where I am for awhile now, all this diamond stuff is pretty draining, lol!

The diamond is spectacular (I''d love to own one one day....) your photos are fab, it''s so wonderful Jon was able to help you out with the trade in...it''s so gorgeous, I don''t think it''s a downgrade at all! Sorry to hear about your job, but best wishes for your studies!

Hey BA,
thankyou matey. Cheers for the wishes, hopefully the job thing was a blessing in disguise.

It''s looking a lil overcast, but I may try for some more flowershots this weekend..

Oh my goddness, arj, isn''t it just like you to get some amazing new rock and confuse the hell out of me for what to get when it''s my turn! My whole life I''ve been an RB girl, and now this!!! Am so confused--I want I want I want!!!!

Well ... if you ever come to the States you have a photography gig with us.
41.gif
Your photography of these really makes it look surreal and expresses yet another facet of their beauty. (pun intended)
10.gif

My entire team expresses their heartfelt thanks for your kind words.
5.gif

We are so honored to see a long standing client and friend share in our excitement for what I believe are the the most beautifully cut, traditional/antique faceted cushions in the world. The vision of these have been in my mind for a long time and it gives me no greater joy than to hear of how much you are enjoying it.
5.gif

I am currently trying to decide on a mens ring for myself with one of these in it.
9.gif

And ... glad to hear about the positive prospects for you in Oz too. Please keep us posted.

Warm regards,

Jonathan

Hello matey, thankyou for dropping in!

Hrmm...got tax time coming up just now, perhaps a trip to NY to become a diamond photographer
is a good way to spend my return..?
2.gif
9.gif

Nahh, I think you guys are doing a great job as it is, but cheers for the compliment on the pics.
It really can''t be helped as this stone''s as easy on the lens as it is on the eye.
5.gif

A men''s ring would be awesome with one of these, I can''t wait to see what type of design you choose -
how exciting
36.gif
Will you go for a large stone?

I said it before, but I''ll say it again - your vision and perseverance in creating these stunners
is a great gift for us all to share in. It feels really special for me to know I wear a diamond for my ering
that very possibly nobody else in my country has even seen! (and I look forward to confusing SA''s with it, lol)..

GOG really are in a league of their own when it comes to the sheer variety of awesome cuts you guys have on offer -and imho, also in terms of your service and of course knowledge when it comes to diamonds.
Jon, you know how I feel about you and your business, so I will leave it here by just saying a big huge *Thankyou*!
35.gif

Thankyou kindly for your enthusiastic compliments everyone!
04diamond<3 - lol, that''s an awful lot of smileys! I''ll take that to mean you liked it
2.gif

Hello Lori, thankyou lovey!

Hi Cind, thankyou sweet.

Hey again Joelly, pls do keep us posted if you decide to go with an OMC. I''m flattered that my ering
has influenced a number of folks to want one for themselves.
5.gif

Thankyou Mrs W - yep, Chrono chrunched the numbers for me and it''s really not much of a difference at all.

Hey Ms C, thankyou both for doing the numbers and for the well-wishes

I am truly, truly in awe of these stones.

Huge kudos to Jon for working with you. What a guy!!

So I went to buy some flowers today to take some more photos with, as a couple folks
have requested - and I saw these lovely things that look like half cabbages/half roses.
I''d never seen them before, and although I realize they''re pretty different and not for everyone,
I just thought they were so funky and had heaps of character, just like my OMC. Plus they were cheap!

So I bought my cabbage roses, having no idea what they were - when I got home and googled them, I dicovered
they actually are a type of flowering edible cabbage called Kale! (link), what a crackup!

Regardless, I''ve really had a thing for this lavender colour lately, and thought it went perfectly
with the pastels in my diamond, so I hope you all enjoy my cabbage photos, LOL!

Apparently Kale is very tasty..good to know, just in case us poor students get extra hungry

what a stunning stone AJ - I am assuming your original ER diamond came from GOG? Just confirming. I tried to find a photo of your original ring but I don't think I came across it. Only one that was a three stone setting, so I'm sure I've missed a bit of your story. Anyhow, again it's a beautiful diamond and I hope you're enjoying it. Lovely lovely.

Hey there lovelove,
actually my *original* ering (got engaged about 4yrs ago now), is the three stone one
you saw. That was what Fi bought for me originally, pre PS - I still love it and won't ever change it.

So when we purchased my RB from GOG, that was like an upgrade, but with an actual second ring -
here's the link for you
thread to RB ring

Thankyou for your comments!

Thankyou kindly also Cachette!

well aj. saw your thread go non-linear over the last 24 hours and i can''t say i''m surprised. any ring that included one of those ABSOLUTELY STUNNING new GOG stones was always gonna be the hot ticket viewing item on these boards. because.....

IT''S GORGEOUS.

holy mother of bling, girl - it''s unbelievable. i looked at it and i....

couldnt

quite

breathe....

i love it. and you are one lucky woman to own it.

y''know, my husband ordered me a small pair of BGD studs yesterday. i love them for all sorts of reasons, but most of all because, years from now, i know i''m gonna be able to say ''i own BRIAN GAVIN diamond earrings.'' some pieces of jewelry are special and we all know it. years from now, when people are comparing rings, you''re going to be able to say ''i own one of the GOG signature cut cushions...'' and people in the know will go ''ooooooohhhhhh!''

congratulations, you lucky, lucky woman!

Hi there Whitby,
aww, what kind words, thankyou love!

I do feel very lucky atm, but for more important reasons than just the diamond, if you kwim.
Times have def. been tough so far this year, but knowing that Fi and I can make it through the bad times
as well as the good without too much damage, is heartening.
5.gif

You, Miss, are the lucky woman with your ever-growing collection!
BGD studs will be just lovely on you, I can''t wait to see them. I will have to make sure I purchase
something from BGD in the next couple years, involving his signature cuts, as yes that is something special that he has created. Lesley is such a delight to chat with too.

And I also agree, these signature cuts that Jon is developing do have a certain heirloom / enduring quality about them too. I guess you can''t go wrong when updating a classic
2.gif

I hope Jon does receive the recognition that you''ve mused on, as I know he deserves it.
5.gif

ha ha, cheers Wishful - I have to agree, I may have downgraded in weight and colour, but I''m
sure I''ve upgraded in beauty and character.
