A.J your ring is absolutely stunning

30.gif
. I''m sorry to hear things have been a bit tough for you, but this seems like a wonderful way to take lemons and make lemonade (so to speak). A magnificent stone such as this can not really be considered a downgrade!!

Judging by the response you have got here, you might just start a trend... Congratulations on the ring, I hope it brings you much joy.

It''s gorgeous.

I actually think this stone is even prettier than your old RB!! It''s just so unique and different! What a rainbow, it''s just amazing. She doesn''t take a bad picture.

What a gorgeous stone - congrats!

Thankyou very much for your comment MC, that is very kind, seeing as I admire an
awful lot of wonderful rings here on PS!

Thankyou Kaleigh!

Hey there icekid, thanks hon! Yup, Jon is just a champ, plain and simple

I hope no one minds, there were just one or two more pics I liked which I didn''t get round to posting..

Oh my gosh - I love, love, love your new diamond!!!!!! It looks fantastic with a yellow gold shank. When I saw your pictures on this post I realized that I just have to have one of those - it''s so beautiful.

Thank you so much for showing us how amazing these stones are. I know that now I am hooked. I always wanted an OMC for forever, and now I have the ability to just pick and choose a new ;) one.

Enjoy!
36.gif

Hey Venice, thankyou - it''s been funny to read how many folks have said they need to own one
now - I can certainly see why! Today is the first genuinely sunny day since I picked up the ring,
with no overcast clouds or rain, and I''m not ashamed to admit I haven''t taken my eyes off my diamond all day, lol!

Like you, I have lusted after a nicely sized OMC or OEC for ages (I have a smaller transitional), and even bought one or two but ended up returning them.
I know for some, the romance and history of owning a true antique is a very large part of the appeal, so these new ones may not be for every vintage-style lover.
But those that have tried will know just how difficult it is to actually find an OMC/OEC or trans in a desired spec range that doesn''t cost a ridiculous amount - so this ability to order up our desired size, clarity and colour ranges in a diamond that is garaunteed to be beautifully cut - well, frankly I''m surprised someone didn''t think to do it sooner!

Oh my goddness, arj, isn''t it just like you to get some amazing new rock and confuse the hell out of me for what to get when it''s my turn! My whole life I''ve been an RB girl, and now this!!! Am so confused--I want I want I want!!!!

Also, it doesn''t surprise me in the least that Jon and his staff were all complete superstars. They don''t realize it yet, but from all the positive feedback they have here on PS, they have a customer for life in me (once I have the money to start buying stuff from them

).

Bravo, bravo! This ring is a perfect 10!

as per request,

here''s a couple handshots with my vintage band..

(what do ya think gemgirl?)

Oh AJ, they look gorgeous together. Geez I love that band! I see what you mean though about the wedding band being too big. Can it be sized without altering the pattern too much? Maybe a very experienced goldsmith could do it.

I really think you got a great stone there. The more photos you take, the more I''m entranced by it''s facet pattern. BTW, how in heavens name are you getting these great pics? As hard as I try (and I bought a Canon850 that was recommended here), I can''t get photos that clear, and colorful and dimensional. All of those yellow and peachy yellow flowers are lending to the color of your stone. Just gorgeous! Creamy and dreamy!

Hey GG,
honestly, I think the diamond and band look really nice together, but unfortunately the band just doesn''t fit
with the legato setting very well..
For the foreseeable future, I''m extremely happy with keeping the Legato setting...(and of course I don''t need to worry about w-bands just yet).
5.gif

But it would be nice to wear the AC as a w-band one day. I haven''t asked anybody to re-size it just yet, as I doubt I''d trust anyone in Perth.
40.gif

I''d likely have maybe JM do so (if he was happy to), if I end up asking him to make a new setting for the OMC one day - something like that.

As to the photos, I''m sorry but I really can''t offer any technical advice there hon! I just find a nice subject, flattering lighting and start snapping. I use what I think is called digital macro (?) on my Sony P&S (its the macro symbol with a looking glass over it), which seems to work better than regular macro.
I dunno GG - maybe because I really enjoy it and have fun doing it, that helps? Sorry I can''t give any proper tips!

I find it quite relaxing really, I just take my bike for a lil ride around the neighborhood in the sun, and find nice places to sit and take photos....Of course, the neighbours must think me a wacko taking multiple pics of my hand all day, ROFL!

They''re some of my faves too - it was this really delicate peachy coloured rose I came across, which made such a pretty prop imo

Hullo SS!
cheers hon, on both accounts.
Actually, your ring is a big inspiration of mine - if I do re-set, I will be going with a wider band like in yours,
I really love that look.

AJ, I LOVE coming back to this thread and seeing more amazing pics. DROOOOOL

Hi, AJ.... That is a seriously beautiful rock you''ve got. I''ve never been an OMC kind of girl and never really liked kozibe effect. Your ring pretty much changed all that !!!! WOW !!! Congratulations !!!

6.gif
AJ! I just saw this thread sweetie, so sad to see you had to trade in your K! It was such a stunning stone, however, you have ended up with a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous stone there! You must be thrilled!!!

Oh AJ I keep coming back to this thread - it''s a bit like a drug and I''m an addict! I can''t tell you how much I love and adore your diamond. You''ve even made me email GOG to find out about the others they have ............ I can''t afford it, don''t need it but .............

Gorgeous ring!! Your pictures are magnificent!!

It''s a beautiful diamond. I love all the rainbow colours reflecting off it

I love your nail polish too

HI:

Late to the party--but gorgeous ring! Wear it in health!

cheers--Sharon

That is a gorgeous diamond, AJ! I love everything about it, including the size. A nice wearable ring, with wonderful flashes of colored light is everything a beautiful diamond should be. I love solitaires, and sparkle, and yellow gold settings and I''m so happy that you went this route. I''m hoping that this will be a forever ring for you. It is so perfect as it is.

Your pictures are magnificent. Please keep them coming. You and your pictures are on their way to being another PS classic, like Ellen''s ISEE2.

Best of luck with the education and the new job hunting and I hope everything works out well for you and yours.

AJ, I came back to look at your beautiful diamond again.

You should change the name of this thread to UPGRADE and not downgrade. It''s such a gorgeous stone.

It''s stunning! Your pictures are professional quality. I adore warm colors in antique (or antique-like!) stones, and yours just loves to play with color!

I'm sorry if I'm confusing anyone - I'm trying to decide on a new av,
but it's turned out all squished!

If anyone reading knows how to un-smush av's, would you be kind enough to do my new
one?

here's the pic - TIA!

ETA..ha ha, and I'm hoping we won't be able to see that big lint
piece when it's in av. size, lol..
