That whole little girl thing was just WAY over the top for me.

Last night I watched the whole second part of the show on mute. I was listening to my team lose

. It was still better entertainment than seeing Dolittle''s head with no sound.

I know she can SING - but I''m still distracted. I''m not alone in saying that - so far - these "idols" haven''t captured me. Like Mara, I''m hoping that I can relate better when the six or so is final.

I read that the judges were nice to Sanjaya & made a fuss over that little girl b/c they want him in the final "live idol" 10 for ticket sales for that age group.

I bought Elliott''s CD today. It was released yesterday. Tonight they are having a signing at the local Circuit City. People were already lined up in the early afternoon. The signing is at 6:00. I don''t know if anyone is as excited about the lastest "crew".

FOR REAL! THAT was bizzare. I don''t know WHAT that was all about, but I watch the show with 2 of my Best friends, and by the end of the show, one of them had PERFECTED a hilarious impression of it. I thought it was pretty entertaining when Simon said, "her face said it all" as his comment on Sanjaya''s performance.

I liked Melinda (although she needs to get some longer weave in her hair b/c the short hair thing was bad), and I really think she is genuine and kind too. I just wish the judges wouldn''t make such a huge deal over her humble personallity because hearing about it every week gets really old. Just let her character speak for itself already.

I liked Jordan a lot too.

Everyone else was boring to me. Blake and Lakisha were ALMOST non-boring, but... ehh...

yeah they have been showing that clip on news shows all day because it was so funny in the context of the show. i am sure in like 10 years that girl will be like 'omg what was i THINKING'...exactly how i feel when i sometimes remember all the NKOTB stuff i had plastered all over my walls and how i screamed like a crazy girl at the concert.

Well, that little girl certainly has had her 15 minutes + of fame! She has been on each morning show.

And possibly credited for Sanjaya staying.

This idol season is insane - and not in a good way.

FWIW - Elliott''s CD is GREAT! Significant romantic moment music! At the signing he sold more than 1500 CD''s in two hours.

Ugh - I was hoping my gut feeling was going to be wrong - but I just KNEW that Stephanie was going home.


While I would have paid to see Sanjaya go home - you know this happens every season. The one young kid gets all the grannies, crazies and "votefortheworst" people to vote for him and he ends up sticking around way too long.

Honestly though - Sanjaya is killing this show for me. That and the fact that there isn''t really anyone that has that extra bit of OOMPH that makes me wait for their performance every week. Sure Doolittle, Lekisha and Jordin are all very talented -- but something is missing....

Yup, I knew Stephanie was going home too...said so I think last week. I was thinking that the producers probably would love it if Sanjaya won. As evidenced by the creepy crying kid, he has a fanbase of freaky teens...the kind that hang out in malls and buy CDs. Melinda and Lakisha are good, but will people buy their CDs by the droves? Seems like you need somewhat of a niche (country) or be a rocker to sell some CDs. Look at how Taylor Hicks bombed. Sanjaya can sing easy teeny bopper love songs with easy range on his CD if he wins.............

But, on your 1st point ... I actually think the powers that be (Simon & anyone who stands to get $$$) are now rooting for/pimping/banking on JORDIN. That girl is $$$-in-the-bank. She's gorgeous, tall, young, talented, charming ... dead-on-target for the teenybuying audience AND the proud parents/grandparents etc etc. She could be the next BRANDY. Singing/TV/Movies etc etc..... She has the whole package & if she doesn't choke, nerves-wise ... I say she's the sleeper to win. Melinda/Lakisha voters might cancel each other out -- too similar. Same with Chris Sligh/Blake voters. JORDIN is the one with a niche. Eh, just a guess.

However ...

I did love Chris Sligh this week. His voice sounded PHENOMENAL on that song. But JORDIN k-i-l-l-e-d it with that power drama ballad. Smoldering. Eh on Kiki & Dolittle. Blake: solid. Everyone else - meh. Poor Gina - that song was not for her.

But I think you are right...Jordan is the best potential idol, both to satisfy idol lovers who want a SINGER to win, and record execs and the record buying public.

Chris S. seems like he can''t get a break - his Christian roots (attends Bob Jones? U) are upset at him picking non Christian songs - when in fact they are quite generic. Idol wants him to be edgyer.

The more I go round and round w/ this idol crew - I think Deco hit the nail on the head - and not the REALLY HUGE head. Jordin could be the sleeper who will gain momentum.

i like how my 4 year old daughter put it best...she said " he looks like a peacock"

it''s just crazy he''s still around and according to VFTW he made it through.

I enjoyed Lakisha, melinda, and Gina (really did pick the best song for herself and sang it beautifully). phil S did a nice job I thought, everyone else was meh..

biggest disappointment for me? Chris Sligh. He just isn''t getting better week to week like I''d hoped and expected. I fear he or hopefully Haley(she was awful last night) will be the one to go...

I''m so tired of watching/hearing Chris R. Everything about this guy annoys me. I hope he gets voted off soon.

Chris S....why week after week does he seem to get weaker?

Haley--I actually prefer her style of singing over the big voiced styles of Melinda and Lakisha, but her rendition thats night was very weak.

Phil did well with the Police song. Somehow, his creepy looks combined with the "I''ll be watching you" lyrics just made me laugh....

Lakisha/Melinda--did well as usual but I''m getting tired of them. They sing everything well, but it always sounds the same to me.

Jordin--It was nice to see her mix it up and do a different style.

Blake--different as always. He may not be the best singer in the group, but I am always interested in his performance to see what he does. He is a definite performer.

Gina--I thought she did great and she seems genuinely touched to be up there. I''d like to see her do well but I think she has a shakey future.

sanjaya must go!!!! last night was a new low for his hair. simon knows he''s a joke and really had nothing to say to him. i thought jordin was cute and fresh. no neck was as usual great. blake was meh last night. i really liked bug eyes performance last night and also red streaky''s too. haley was as simon says forgettable. chris sligh was not good last night and i usually like him.

my DH voted about 15 vtimes for sanjaya to make me mad.

theres a woman who has been on a hunger strike for 12 days now and says she won''t eat until sanjaya goes home...people are nuts.

The surprises for me were Phil and Gina. Both were better than I''d ever seen them. I was listening closely to Phil because "Every Breath You Take" is my favorite song. I just knew he would butcher it...but he was not half-bad. And Gina chose a great song for her style and voice. I expect both of them to be back next week.

Chris R. is wearing on me, and he totally did not do justice to "Don''t Speak." Chris S. STILL has not grasped the concept that you need to sing with the music. Jordin did a good job and I liked that she changed it up with the uptempo youngish song. Jordin is definitely my favorite now. If I actually voted I''d vote for her. The rest, whatever....we all know Melinda and Lakisha have great voices, but one day I just want to see them both fall short of the mark just to spice it up a little!

I have no clue who is going this week, but I hope it''s Haley (sp?). She''s pretty and all but I am just tired of her now. Clearly she is using the more-skin-the-better marketing tool.

Chris Sligh - I think he may not be in it for very much longer. He was so off last night - the vocals actually didn''t sound that bad but I was so distracted by him not matching the music at all that I couldn''t even listen to the whole song. And he needs a hair cut

Lekisha - sure she can sing, but i was kind of bored with her performance last night. I just didn''t get any of the fire or personality that I felt from her earlier. It''s almost like she''s too concerned about singing as technically great as Melinda does that she forgets about the "performance" part of the song. totally forgot that she went until the little blurbs at the end of the show. i really want her to do well, i hope she steps it up next week

Phil - dude actually pulled it off last night! He still looks a little crazy (ton of make up last night!) and the whole tucking your ears into your hat thing really throws me off - but the singing/performing was spot on I thought

Blake- it was a pretty good performance. I just don''t think he has the greatest voice, and on songs where it''s all about the voice and not so much about the personality I think he falls a bit flat. Still like the song and him, just didn''t think it was his best Thought it was funny that the judges were all "you did such a great arranging job - so original and different!" When the arrangement he sang was almost note for note the whole regae-ish version that 311 did of the song.....

Melinda - girl can SING. But darn it - she needs to start picking at least ONE song that someone in the audience will have heard of before. I mean come on, there has to be something she can sing that isn''t circa 1970 or earlier. That and the outfit are my only complaints

Jordin- I was really really hoping she would knock it out of the park, but it was a bit awkward. She was having fun and stuff, but it seemed like she kind of lost her "I can do this!" spirit after the first bit of the song.

Chris Timberlake - still hate him. still hate the sound of his voice. thought he picked a horrible song for his voice/style.

but i would rather watch him and hate every second than writhe in the agony that is.....
sanjaya - nice pony tails. i think i did that in grade school for halloween one year. i don''t even know what to say about him anymore. Except it was funny as hell when Gwen was saying "it''s going to be really tough for him, i hope he can do it" and she had to try really hard not to laugh.

Oh and Haley - almost forgot her. arrangement was horrible - singing wasn''t much better and was she wearing a short dress with bike shorts underneath it? or was that some other horribly mishappen bubble monstrosity? ick. bad news too that she''s back to the "oh i forgot about her"
