I like them and I can see why you''re upset now! There isn''t anything like them in the catalog and the website doesn''t really show much casual dinnerware. Do they carry lots of brands? Are you limited to what is visible in the store? I do like the coffee version, but I agree that the Slate is richer... wonder if they will also discontinue the coffee version?

Well, if you go to www.hbc.com/registry, there''s a ''registry guide'' you can click on. Go to page 28; it''s the set in the middle called the ''Noritake Kona Slate 4-piece place setting''. It''s casual, seems durable and sturdy, and we liked the slate blue colour better than the coffee coloured one on page 9. I dunno. We''re going for blues and greens in the bedroom, greens and browns in the bathroom, maybe some whites and tans would look nice in the dining room. The servingware and bakeware we picked is white, maybe we could go with the coffee coloured set after all. I''m really not good at decorating and stuff!

OMG NO WAY! I swear, this is the exact set I was about to recommend to you in my first reply, before my BF walked in and wanted to go out for a bite to eat and I had to cut my post short.

My mother and her mother (my maternal grandmother) both got their bridal sets from Noritake, so it''s a somewhat sentimental brand for me. You got good taste girl! Don''t stress out too much, I''m sure you''ll find another set you like. If there is such a thing, can I send registry dust your way?

I didn't really have anything to add to your post other than I hear ya! I used to like shopping until I became more responsible with my money, lol. But anywho, so FI and I have started our second registry (the first was at amazon and we know alot of people who don't like the whole online thing) at bed bath and beyond, well we're also having troubles finding dishes we can agree on, so I've been browsing annnnnnnnd, I came across your dishes HERE! I know you can't have them on your registry (unless you started another one) but at least it's another place you can get them! I first saw them in the indigo color they have, and I thought they looked familiar... then I saw them in the slate and went ah ha! Those are Anchors dishes!! hehe
