I agree with MissGotRocks. That diamond is large now and with a halo would be huge. I'd only go to 3 cts if you plan to wear it as a solitaire. It looks beautiful, though!
You think it’ll be too much too? Yes this stone is OMG so beautiful!!!!! So WF didn’t have this diamond when I made my purchase, and late in the afternoon a day before my shipment date, they got this (maybe from someone upgrade/someone reviewing it/brand new) I don’t care where its from but suddenly this stone came up and they haven’t listed it in their web. I don’t know if flashes of fire can came from the lower half!!! I didn’t know such thing possible... so I’m also thinking of not Halo it, get some micropaved setting and keep the lower half being seen so I can enjoy the beautiful flashes from the lower half too... so I’m still thinking any kind of option... but indeed, this is a beautiful beautiful diamond! Even my DH said this diamond looks very alive! He likes it too we’ll see how it goes.... too early to say anything... and If I got a 3ct in the future I hope this diamond falls to fellow PSers
The most important thing is the diamond. The setting will happen. And as you can see, you might even change your mind about the setting. Personally, with such a perfect stone as super-ideal, I would not want to cover it up with a lot of metal/halos...as I like to enjoy the sparkle from all sides. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy it now and see how you like it.
I’m so happy it’s beautiful to you. Just enjoy wearing it for a little while. Let it speak to you. Yes. Super ideals are superb as solitaires. They should be allowed to take the stage alone cause they can handle the spotlight.
Is this stone the one you inspected?? The one you think its too warm?
Is your heart set on a 3 carat VC Emilya? If yes, have VC cut the stone and make it. I really tend to think that he will not let you down. If he cuts the stone and you don’t like it, are you stuck with it? I was in his office yesterday and IMO, he really takes so much pride in all of his work, including his diamonds. There is a PS that has a 3 carat Emilya- I think @nala? It is a super, super, super stunning ring. Ultimately, try to decide what you want and don’t settle.
If you prefer a WF stone, maybe they can custom make a setting that you like? I went down a rabbit hole in my upgrade journey because I didn‘t listen to myself. I wasted a ton of money on my first jeweler (not a PS vendor) before I decided what I wanted. My stories are all over PS- I made a ton of costly mistakes before I found my way.
Try to listen to your heart. I am completely biased towards VC right now because my ring is so spectacular IMO. But, you need to do what is best for you.
As far as size, I think that is up to you. If your heart says 3 carat, then consider doing it. My ring is a 2.23 because that was the absolute top of my budget (in fact, I blew my budget-oops). If I had the budget for a 3 carat Emilya, I think I would do it.
You will make the right decision for you and I can’t wait to see your ring. I think a solitaire would be amazing and I think a halo would be amazing.

No. That diamond was a whole other journey! It’s is not a super ideal brand. I just got super lucky thanks to the very knowledgeable folks here on ps who convinced me to take a chance on it. Of course when It came in, it passed the idealscope test! It has med blue fluorescence which I love! And I didn’t pay would you would expect for a 2.90 E! Also, very lucky it has no visible inclusions for an Si1! I finally had the chance to compare it to my sister’s 1.94 ACA in lots of lighting conditions and guess what? I have ZERO regrets!! I didn’t notice a significant difference in their performance. My stone appeared so much brighter while hers had an ivory tint—bc it’s an I color. That was a significant difference that I did perceive under all lighting conditions. I’m not dissuading you from a super ideal. Definitely the safe way to go! But also, don’t make compromises on color either. If it bothers you in some lighting conditions, it will continue to bother you. You can find a good balance.I tried to find your thread but I can’t find it anywhere, did you get your center diamond from VC too?
I don’t know if I want a Halo now.. I kinda mesmerized by side profile of sparkly diamond.. and I’m more confused now hahahhahaha

No I do not agree with assuming that you will love every super ideal MRB. You’re way ahead of the game if you find a stone you love. It’s a big risk to get a custom cut. If you are mentally sure you are ready to love whatever results form the cut then proceed. If you can be picky about what you want to see, hang on to a stone you really like. Those are not easy to come by. I know. Over returned 4 of them. Then like @nala said give it time to get to know it. Then figure out the setting. Steven Kirsch does amazing halos as well. I am trying to make it work with him since I cannot have VC make my setting. And others have loved Maytal Hannah.
And I have had two settings from VC so I know the feeling of a VC setting.
@LLJsmom—Tbh, your journey has caught me by surprise. Have you considered that maybe mrb’s are not for you?
No not the 2.61. I tried the 3.1 H.
If you are referring to the 3.1 H I think it is good for a super ideal. Not the beat but good. Performance wise I prefer it to the F 2.635. I mean some sparkles and some brightness. But I think I’m biased because the 2.47 E ACA I have now is the liveliest of all the super ideals I have seen so far. And I have seen another H AGS that is whiter than the 3.1. But I don’t have much tolerance for tint. TBH the E I have is just a middle E, or a lower E. I’ve seen whiter ones. What’s your take about it? Is the cloud on its table have any effect on its beauty? Apart from being too warm for you, do you think it has good light performance? Or you’ve seen better?

If you have the time...... would love to see a video showing the live of your 2.47 E
For what it is worth, I see more brightness and precision in this stone that I do in your friend’s diamond. Her stone is pretty but just doesn’t pack that extra punch like the one on your ring finger does. Just my .02.
