2.55 carats with colorless but visible inclusions. Ebay photo

Here it is in a very dim cloudy day next to my other mint Afghan tourmaline in my ring

I really love the saturation level on this one, and the dichroism. It''s green on the ends and more blue in the middle. Absolutely no extinction, but I have yet to take pics of it in incandescent light. I''m definitely going to set this one. I''ll take more pics in incandescent light later.

Here's another one, as you can see, it has a bit more blue than my other mint Afghan tourmaline (although the other one turns a gorgeous seafoam blue in incandescent light and I love it!!). Very bad cloudy miserable day to take pics.

Pretty, it''s a nice rich color!

Here it is under pure artificial light.

One more. I love how it looks under artificial light. Typically many tourmalines close up under certain lighting conditions, in particular artificial light. But this one is bright in all light. My camera stinks, it's so hard to capture how beautiful this truly is in person. My other Afghan is much nicer than depicted here as well.

Wow TL, you have such a good eye for gemstones. Wish I could take you shopping with me, but I guess asking you stuff on PS is a good second-best. How will you set your new little beauty?

Very pretty TL. It''s a shame about the inclusions but they''re not too noticeable from hand distance are they?

LD,
No they''re not that noticable at all, especially in artificial light. I don''t mind a couple inclusions in gems if the color is right. Color is really important to me, and it is so difficult to find the right saturation and color in a mint tourmaline. They''re either too dark, too light, too green, too yellow, but this is a better mixture of everything I look for. Therefore, I''m willing to forego some inclusions. It''s cut really nice as well. It''s not a Gene, Jeff, Dan, or BB cut of course (I wish), but the cutting is fine. Besides, the price was awesome!!

Thank you Cellentani,
Probably a white gold LOGR, we'll see.

Just because my camera really stinks, I thought I''d put it between two other stones for contrast. On the left is a leaf green Afghan tourmaline, and on the right is a more yellow green mint Mozambique tourmaline.

Very nice looking tourmaline TL! Afghanistan produces so many nice stones in so many different colours. Think I have some afghan rough laying in a box somewhere, must look for it when I get the time.

okay, last one under hallogens in my kitchen. It really looks more blue here. It''s in between two lime green demantoids, which look really olive in this pic.

Great eye TL! I love the color!

Great find. I love the color.

Pretty, it''s so luminous in all lighting conditions.

Which ebay seller ?

I love the colour of the tourmaline, wish the inclusion wasn''t there.

YUMMMY, like fresh minty breath!

TL - I ADORE the one in the ring you are wearing! What are the specs on that?

Ohhh! The color is very very nice!

Thank you all for the kind words on my stone. I''m really looking forward to getting it set, and posting more pictures.

Hi Steve,
A canon A620

I was playing with my camera tonight and I discovered it really takes good and truer color pics in portrait mode/macro.
