It does look better in that setting.

I was playing with my camera tonight and I discovered it really takes good and truer color pics in portrait mode/macro.
TL, I am jealous. Not only do you have beautiful gems, but you also have a camera that decent macro capabilities.

Ditto. TL, is this the same stone that you posted on BrownEyedGirl''s "what stone looks best in rose gold" thread?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

PR,
Yes, it is the same stone that I had in BEG''s rose gold thread. I''m planning to set that in rose gold at some point.

Oh YUM!! I absolutely loved that pic with the rose gold setting. I never would have put them together, but really like the look. It makes sense to put a green stone in rose gold (or vice versa) because they would complement each other and make a nice contrast.

Have you thought about how the head is going to be? It''s a long stone, so I assume north/south. I can totally see it in a vintage/antique look.

No I haven't. I'll probaby get an LOGR. I don't spend a lot on settings because I prefer spending the $$$ on the gems. Besides this was an ebay find and not terribly expensive. I'll probably do a 6 x 11 custom LOGR in rose gold. He told me that he could modify one for this stone. I might look at the other Chinese sellers as well. I wasn't crazy about the mount that LOGR said could be modified.

This will be on my list of "to do" projects for a while.

No certificates? How do you know they are not fake?
