Maybe this is a sensitive topic for some..

I can be a snob sometimes, particularly about what I want in a ring, or what accessories I care to spend money on. I''m especially a snob about ballet -- beginners have no business being in an advanced class! Aside from that, I''m a snob about not being a snob to people. I hate that.

So what are you a snob about?

untreated colored stones.

I am a snob about good quality. this is not just translated as expensive...but I do not like to be misled about something. If I am getting a bargain and know something is not built to last, fine, but I like to know what I am getting. I just hate crappy workmanship, shoddy stuff...

diamonds.

food

haha OV..me too..big time on food, esp around here!!

I guess I'm snobby about people who complain and choose not to improve their situations in life. Happiness is not something that falls in your lap, it's created by effort. I just don't understand it! Other than that...Jewelry, for sure!!! Some stuff is just soooo tacky ~ Nothing I've seen on PS, though

ETA: Yeah, food, too!

oral & general hygiene - unless there is an obvious reason for someone to not be able to stay clean, I keep my distance!

I think I''m a snob about a lot of things. Basically, I see no point in people purchasing cheap things in high quantities so they can have a lot of "stuff" instead of purchasing something that will be more durable for a higher price. I''m not necessarily a "brand-name" snob, I just believe in getting the most bang for your buck. I''d personally rather work harder and sacrifice longer for something I know I''ll really, really love a few years from the time I purchase it than instantly gratify my urges by spending less on something I think I have to have RIGHT NOW!

I guess if I narrowed it down to a couple things I get snobby about, it would have to be clothes and restaurants. I''d rather buy a few classic pieces a year and sprinkle my wardrobe with trendy accessories than shop the sales every week or shop discount retailers or max our my credit cards to be able to wear a different outfit every day of the month. And with restaurants, I''d rather not eat out all month and go somewhere really nice, and IMO, worth it, for fabulous wine, apps, and meals once a month. And diamonds--now that I''ve found PS I''ve become a total snob on the DL as far as people we know and the purchases they''ve been making--no "frozen spit" for me, thanks! LOL!

i admit, i am a brand name snob. im also a snob about not shopping at certain stores or eating at certain restaurants. im very snobby about jewelry, language, and personal hygiene.

Good food numero uno, big time.

I think THAT is the perfect way to look at it! :)

I am not sure if I would consider myself a snob or just particular about things. I know what I like and I know what I don't like. I don't doubt my choices very often. My husbands says I'm high maintenance, I say I'm high performance. I tell him if you want a Ferrari you better know how to take care of one!

A clean house! I can''t stand dirty...not just messy, but downright dirty homes! I like everything tidy and in it''s place!

I think I''m more obsessive compulsive than snobby!

good food---not necessaily FANCY food, it doesn''t matter how expensive, but it has to be good for what it is.

Also I am a snob about bread machines and people who use them

True, Kaleigh...I never liked that word either. It''s always reminded me of people who look down their noses at others, and the whole "pooh-pooh" thing! When I was in Catholic school as a 2nd grader, Sister Joan had a "chat" with myself and a girlfriend one day after we''d had a little playground tiff and told us both, "never hold your head too high, and never walk around with your head down; always look straight ahead." Truer words have never been spoken.

I still stand for not blowing money on cheap crap, though.

I agree on the distinction of particular vs snobby. For me, the biggest would be food. I have to be in the mood to eat what I'll eat for dinner. I am picky about what I eat but it isn't so much snobby - I don't go for that uber fancy food and no funky food combinations. I used to be a movie snob. FI likes stupid comedies like Scary Movie and I just hated that stuff... but it has grown on me over the years.

I am a snob about some things and a slob about others

ETA: I am also 59% snob.

Yikes...I guess I''m snobbier than I thought...74%!!! Perhaps I should work on tolerance

Do I have to stay back a "class"?

The abuse of the English language,
emembarrassed.gif
sorry to say. We have a certain " Mockney" accent in the UK where some people will put on this atrocious fake London accent and say for example " we aint got none" instead of " we don't have any" etc and that drives me crazy. I could come up with many more examples.
14.gif
It would be ok if they normally spoke like that but they don't! Also folk who buy and wear all the horsey gear yet don't know one end of a horse from another, all the gear and no idea!

There is nothing better than a horse at showing up your general inexperience and making a fool of you - they seem to know who knows how to handle them and who doesn't!

We recently went to visit a childhood friend of my husband's...and their house is so nasty that we stayed in a hotel! I have gone over and helped friend's clean up and get organized! It's a sickness I tell ya!

My husband's friends tease him and tell him that he lives with Martha Stewart...but younger and cuter!

ETA: 59% because I refused to acknowledge the existence of the Hilton sisters!
