Are you a snob?

41% snob.

I''m really not sure what a "snob" is. Funny, one of the questions is "you only buy quilted toilet paper". I''m a snob in that I will only buy "Charmin Ultra".

I''m particular - but does that make me a snob? Is a snob when you take your "charmin ultra" love and redirect that you look down on people who don''t buy charmin ultra?

I think the biggest area where I am a snob is in the area in which I collect.

I had a kitty just like him Kitten

I suppose I am a cat snob, being rather addicted to the Persian/ Himalayan breed
16.gif
Aw, those baby-blues eye make me melt. He''s a ham! And he knows how cute he is...

He''s actually not a Persian/Himalayan - he''s a Ragdoll!
Oh.......and I would be remis if I didn''t add that I too am a total cat snob. I am personally ''owned'' by a Burmese and a Bombay!! But my Burmese is the most special animal I''ve EVER been owned by before!!

I''m a sushi snob, definitely.
28.gif
Can''t eat bargain (all you can eat) or fast food sushi. Blech.

YES. Good sushi (aka LOVE fresh tuna) is a must.

I'm a food snob in that the FOOD must be good. I don't care so much about the place or the service or the decor....as long as you aren't getting crappy service in an expensive restaurant. aka if I am paying $35 for my entree I want good service AND good food. But if it's $8 then I just care about good food. All relative to expectations, I suppose.

I admit it- I''m a snob about spelling and grammar.
16.gif
I don''t know why, I always have been! Lately I''ve been a snob about diamonds, not anyone in PS, but people I see in public, like, "Her setting totally makes her diamond look teeny.". Whoops. I also a snob about ice-cream. I need the high-end labels! Why? I dunno! Chocolate, too. Sorry guys. Sees? Okay... Godiva? YES! I''m also a snob about my friend''s maltese. He''s totally out of the margins of a purebred, yet she paid a pretty penny. She doesn''t understand why I am upset for her. You pay tons of money for a show-quality dog, and what do you get? A discolored, overweight (of course, her feeding him only people food doesn''t help), who has bad grooming. WHY??!

Looking at what I wrote, I am SUCH A SNOB!
23.gif

oh honey, we have to educate you in chocolate snobbery! Learn to poo-poo Godiva for Rechutti and Valhrona (sp?) and then we''ll be getting somewhere....

hershey''s 1 oz baking squares are great for brownies though. Did I mention I''m a from-scratch snob?

signed,

the chocolate snob
36.gif

RT, you''d think that trolling gourmet stores would enlighten me on the less commercial chocolate brands! I must look harder! I"m also a from-scratch snob!! Especially dessert!

I guess I am a food snob too.....that''s why I like to go to places where I am guaranteed excellent food every time. Doesn''t have to be an expensive place - just has to be quality food!

LOL - speaking of food -

I am also a meat snob! I will NOT eat leftovers, I will NOT eat meat with bones, I will NOT eat dark meat chicken, I will not eat fast food meat EVER... Oy vey!

I will not eat ANYTHING from the ocean, especially anything with a shell. Or Pork. Or duck. Or deer. (okay, I admit. I am COMPLETELY squeamish.)

Maybe it''s best said, I''ll only eat steak (fillet mignon!) or chicken breast.

Chocolate snob here too. Glad I am not the only one. (I won''t eat candy bars!) I do not like other sweets... I am a picky girl ;-)

I forgot a sheet snob! Anything under 400 count is unacceptable. Currently, I have two sets of 820 and one set of 1100...ah the promised land.

Ooh littlelysser I wanted to see that episode. Damn work had to get in the way. I thought about taping it but figured I could catch the re-run sometime.

my food rule is if I could cook it better and with less effort, then why am I paying you to do it?

Oh man, I am a food snob.
15.gif
Although I think my snobbery comes more from OCD. I don''t eat dark meat. I don''t eat skin. I only eat chicken, or rarely turkey. I don''t eat mayo, mustard or any other wet condiment. I can''t have foods touch, and if my piece of chicken has a vein in it, I won''t eat it. I can''t eat fish if the silver part is on it, or a dark piece. I also won''t eat leftovers. Then again, I have to eat my corn and mashed taters together. Like, MIXED IN. I am a freak.

I forgot one i don''t think anyone said, I am an underwear snob!!! I LOVE Hanky Panky the best, once in a while I see 3 for $10 or something and they are cute so I get them and I wear them once and can''t stand em...Underwear has to be super cute and comfy

I am a snob about food & word pronounciation, but relax on lots of other things. Oh, and I''m a denim snob. I might wear a tshirt from Target, but only with my premium designer denim..Seven for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Joie, Paper Denim Cloth...et al.

Oh...and I am a house snob. BIG TIME. I have a great 100 year old house that we doubled in size & completely remodeled while trying to maintain the ''old'' feel. Its just a wonderful space, we''ll live here forever! I prefer old houses, especially well built ones like this....but have seen some great new construction that I really like. However, I have an eye for details that many builders miss, and I get annoyed by little things. Bad interior doors, no trim around exterior or interior windows, small moulding, and wasted space. I also get on my high horse about developers slamming hundreds of identical houses on postage stamp lots.

Manor House Snob RAting: 63%....heck yeah, I talk to the grocery baggers all the time! They''re nice!!

Grammar, mostly the double-negatives. Drives me nuts!

I''m a total snob about anything figure-skating related. I sounds more like Dick Button than Peggy Fleming when I watch (but I guess I''d better know what the heck I''m talking about since it''s how I make a living) oh, yah, did I mention I''m a snob about my job? You will not find a better coach anywhere (please pick up on sarcastic nature)

anything competitive whatsoever. I''m just a big fat snob about it all.

I scored a 41% btw

jen

so Jen, as a former competitive skater to a coach...(I hear my former coach invented the "throw axel"...Ron Kaufman...I think he got a Bronze in pairs at worlds wayyy back in the day....I''m having to stretch my brain here....I started with him young....oh I also grew up skating against Tonya H...lucky me) did you just DIE watching Skating with the Celebrities? I mean, c''mon!! Where oh where were the technical elements that make skating what it is? I was disgusted beyond belief.

My husband often makes fun of me, because I will comment on a skater while watching a competition and then Dick Button will say the exact same thing. Love the Button.

And why do I love Sasha Cohen so...even though I can never breathe during an entire performance and then I want to cry after each one. Her talent and her focus are on two different planes, it makes me batty.

Ok, so I''m skating snob too.

Some things that I am particular about, although I hesitate to call it snobbery:

Fresh, unprocessed food.

Many of the housing details that Divergrrl mentioned. Unfortunately, I don''t yet have the income to indulge myself.
7.gif

Decorating, also to the extent that I can indulge it. I don''t like rooms to look generic. I''d much rather have an old oriental rug than a beige carpet. Paint does wonders with old furniture. I like making slipcovers and reupholstering things too, although I''m not talented enough to take on large projects.

Cleanliness and order, although I will admit that I''m not always perfect at the latter.

Not being a snob.

DF - I don''t think I''ve ever noticed you posting about a guy''s perposal story and axing about the karets of the engagment ring

i think one-time a poster ask...is a 1.75 carrot too big for an e-ring.

snob: fergeson''s irish linen sheets (superking), good furniture, costuming

antisnob: buying most of my clothes at walmart, POS car, modest "paid fer house", used diamonds.

I''m a total, insufferable coffee snob. It''s gotta be freshly brewed (drip), and preferably freshly ground.....and strong!

I view coffee in most diners (kept warm in those round things...brown trim for regular, orange for decaf...) with utter distain!
14.gif

I''m a grammar/spelling snob, too. (Surprising, considering most of my posts...)

-DIET COKE...is the nectar of life.

-I like nice socks, I walk nearly everywhere and spend a fair bit of time on my feet. I find that nice socks can really make the day better (and help you avoid blisters or what not while breaking in new sneakers). In the winter I like Nordstrom’s running socks and in the summer Target''s Champion antibacterial socks both in the quarter crew.

-I like cars with well done noise reduction, I hate having my ears pop while driving. The new King Ranch Ford''s are really nice, loving them!

-I also like people who I cannot smell, this refers to perfume, body odor and dental hygiene.

Other then that I am not fussed about most things.

Hmmmm good question, I'm sure I'm a snob in some way shape or form...here are the things I can think of now

Water: I LOVE sparkling water and would rather drink that than regular water...I'm sure people think I'm being uppity when I order it.

Ice cream: Although I will eat other brands...IF I must...I think Bryer's is the absolute shizznit in ice cream.

I can't think of any others right now....but I'm sure there's more.

LOL, doesn't say awhole lot about me.

I am a mega smoking snob - always have thought that smokers are weak and grotty peoply (sorry to the smokers here, but it''s the snob in me!!!). Hate the crap!

Got 46% on the survey thingy, thanks for posting, was fun!

He he he, I am always thirsty. I go through 3 cases of Diet Coke a week, and 5 or six of the 2.5 gallon containers of water. I am trying to cut back on the Diet Coke and up my intake of water, or Crystal light. But Diet Coke is just so good…I swear it is just short of addictive.
Oh I did make it to the store, so now I have turkey lettuce goldfish and even more DC in the fridge!

Mmmmm... I''m with you on the Diet Coke. Especially a nice fountain soda from Wa-wa. Anyone else do the trick where you add mostly Diet Coke then a little squirt of root beer at the end? Talk about addictive... I''m warning you now.......

I do that too...ephemery where do you live? Are you in NJ I only ask becuase of the Wa-wa comment and that is the only place I have seen them.

Not to rain on anyone''s Diet Coke parade, but since becoming healthy, I''ve cut out all soft drinks. I was actually a bit turned off to them when I saw someone using a coke product to ''eat'' the build-up on their battery connection in their car. It ate it like acid, and I wondered what it might be doing to my stomach

????????????

Rod have you ever done the experiment using Coke or Pepsi to clean a coin? It still doesn''t put me off though, I love my diet soda but I do drink water too

Lorelei........I guess I haven''t, but I''m guessing it does a pretty effective job

. My only beverages these days are Starbucks Coffee (probably more than I should have) and water. Lots and lots and lots of water. Particularly on workout days, which are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I also enjoy an occassional glass of a nice Merlot, Cabernet or Pinot Noir
