LOL, Gailey! Yeah, he cut it for me, but I was looking for a lighter colour amethyst since I already have the deep rich Barry stone. Let me go find the pic and upload!

OK, pic 1

And the last pic . . .

This is his description of the stone.

(Amy196) Amethyst (Bolivia). 3.43ct, 8.85.8.85x7.50mm. Asscher square.

The stone is deep, as is always the case with asschers in quartz. I think the depth is what increased the depth of color -- which is a good thing in the end as this color amethyst would command a higher premium than the lighter tones. But you requested a light tone stone; let me know if it''s too dark for you.

I''ve included two hand-held shots as I''m not really content with either one. One seems too light, the other too dark. Perhaps between all three images, you''ll get a solid feel for the stone.

Oh Boy does Peter cut nice asschers. I''m guessing he got the rough at Tuscon and comes from the same batch that my sister''s amethysts came from.

It''s more neon in person.

I''m using the vendor''s picture because I can''t seem to take a decent picture of it.

Oohh I love Peter''s amethyst! He is such a great cutter, I just cannot get over his awesomeness.

Me, too, Chrono! This will be my second minty peridot. I''m going to see which one I want to send to Whiteflash for my green gold ring project.

I thought I''d put up GemRite''s new hessonite asscher. 2.26 ct, VS clarity. John writes: This has the typical hessonite color. The color is orange with a touch of brown. The stone doesn''t have inclusions but it has a weird affect like a drusy look.

Looks like a sleepy stone; microscopic inclusions that scatter the light to give this look.

Thought I''d share my yummy asscher morganite, cut by Jeff White.

Harriet,
That''s a very nice danburite. You rarely ever see neon yellow in a gemstone. There''s canary yellow, but it''s not always the same thing.

What a pair! They are so drool worthy!!!

Gary Braun''s Asscher Pink Tourmaline from Nigeria - 2.64 carats, 7.7mm, IF clarity.

...hand shot...
The picture doesn't do justice. It comes out darker than I would have liked. It's hard to photograph its true color.
Gary's cut is amazing. Love it!!!
