I had forgotten that you have/had a Diamelia. I’m super excited to see how your AV compares! Did you sell it or do you still have it?

Don't have the AV yet (just purchased last night), but I really liked/like my diamelia. It's 6.5mm, so I was going to order a new stone for my tension project anyway. I honestly don't have any complaints about the diamelia, and am excited to see how the AV compares!

@michellelynn9175 I'm with @Sandeek ,not color sensitive and my AV is also I/J. It faces up white most of the time, on occasion I would call it "soft white". Don't be afraid of the AV I/J. I think it's perfect. I am also adding photos of my AV oec next to a MoCo "H"oec. The AV is clearly whiter . You have to consider the source, I trust the AV color grade much more than MoCo.( or other sellers!) Diamonds in eternity ring are F/G, (for reference)

Is it me or does the cut look better on the AV than the MoCo? They're gorgeous, btw, but you're right the I/J is whiter and brighter than the MoCo H!

Thank you for this comparison! Makes me much more confident to just go with the IJ, especially since I’m doing unplated white gold. Your rings are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Ugh...I swoon every time! That DK bezel is just to die for.

@michellelynn9175 yes! The I/J will be beautiful in the unplated white gold! My rings are platinum, so also not super white like plated wg either.
@sd_flp "Is it me or doesthe cutlookbetter ontheAVthanthe MoCo? " the AV is superior in light performance and brightness, but the MoCo is the same oec cut that C&C used to have and I'm a fan. Lots of kozibe! So I have a brilliant performer on one hand, and a kozibe monster on the other.

I know bezel settings are permanent, but this is going to be a long-term/forever stone, anyway (after I get engaged I plan to use this as a travel ring). I know for sure I want to set it in yellow gold.

Can you do a mock prong bezel? I’ve seen some that are really pretty and you would be able to pop it out later if you want and set it with another stone. I’m not much help as I agonize myself how to set things..sorry

Lol, It’s hard! But I didn’t even think about a prong bezel! Hm, that might not be a bad idea, although I am fine with having a true bezel.

Boy..do I understand...I’m done with figuring out my settings...I just sent my emerald cut to David and picked a plain setting...I couldn’t take it anymore! I’m going to enjoy everyone else deciding theirs..

DK bezeled a moissy for me last year, but the halo was too big for me for wedding jewelry, so I had him switch out the moissy for a blue zircon. He did not damage either stone and remade the bezel. You can't even tell the zircon is not the original stone.

Wow! That’s amazing! I can’t believe he was able to remove the moissy without ruining it.

I’m a huge bezel fan, too; actually I wear a pendant that’s a half bezel, although the stone I kinda regret. I was debating on switching it out for the AV earlier, but decided not to after I got it. I’ve been distracted with some of the 6 prong rings I’ve been seeing lately, though, hence my indecision these days...

I will say that every time I see your OEC bezels, I’m leaning more towards getting an OEC bezel myself!

I heard someone was looking for a comparison of different moissanites. I'm not sure if it was on this board or not, but thought I'd help out with some pics since I've purchased a lot of different ones from different companies. I've done EXTENDED reviews with pics and videos on WeddingBee. Not sure if I can link it on here, so I'm going to do some pics instead. Just few I can find on my computer of each type. Not all are best of pics, just finding the best I can in a short time without going crazy digging.

C&C F1 H&A - 8mm colorless, purchased the stone and ring from MoCo.

Amora Eternity Super Ideal H&A

The loose stone was 7.3mm F color, returned it a while ago for bigger size.


A little over 7.5mm E color. The paper says it's E color, but I think they didn't grade it correctly, because it looks like a G to me. It looks slightly warmer than the F I had got previously. Should have returned it to them. Didn't take too many pics, had issues with the setting. Now back to loose stone, and haven't taken too many pics of it.

Looks whiter than G-H to me, which is fine, haha. Got more bang for my bucks. Whiter than my so-called E graded from Amora.

When I compare it to my ideal cushion diamond they both are beautiful and I love them both. To my eyes they both look like diamonds. This was an impulse buy for me, since I wasn't even looking to buy a moissy, but after seeing MakingTheGrade's photo of her moissy several months ago I was so impressed I ordered one. Since I wasn't shopping for a moissanite I did not compare to others, but just felt comfortable ordering from AV as I knew of Jonathan's stellar reputation on Pricescope. You will love yours!

Tianyu's H&A (thicker arrows) - 7mm F color
LOVE IT! Can hold its ground pretty well against the NA's vendors.

When I order another 7.5mm thick arrows from Tianyu, it wasn't as thick as last time. They said it's thick H&A, but to me it doesn't look like it. Wasn't as much of a fan of this one:

StarsGem's Stardard H&A : 7.5mm G-H color
Thinner arrows. Looks more like a H&A and brilliant cut hybrid. Still nice.





StarsGem's thicker H&A (resulted in thicker culet) - F color
When I went back and asked for thicker arrows H&A, it came out with bigger culet. Wasn't a fan. Actually preferred their original.

Lol. Last time I checked when I compared the Amora to AV with just my eyes and no pics and videos together, the Amora is slightly nicer. I'm going to compare both of them together again later on in pics and videos so I could see clearer and then I'll have my final answer.

I might have to throw the C&C F1 H&A in the mix again, lol. The one I recently got looks damn good. The culet isn't as big as I remembered. It's actually more proportional.
