Baseball fans--congregate here!!!

if i weren't at work i would have never known that the Giants just won the world series

...aaaaaaand it's DONE!

There are fireworks outside

WOOOHOOOOO!

Loved this series, Giants smoked 'em!

I'd like to say that even though I dislike the Giants severely (and have for a long time), Congratulations on your World Series win...I bet the city is going insane right now and the parade is going to be such a fun experience for everyone that lives there!

Congrats to the Giants - you were the better team this series.

But I'm still so proud of my Rangers. It's been nice to be able to say "Rangers" and "World Series" in the same sentence without sounding delusional!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GIANTS!!!!!

Autumn, you are a true sports fan :) I respect that.

I thought DH would want to go into the city - he doesn't, thank goodness! :errrr:

I'm happy to revel, but some other time when it's not a madhouse!!

I actually had no idea that its been 56 years since the Giants last won a WS! I seriously can't imagine how crazy San Fran is going....if you or anyone else goes to the parade post pictures, pretty please!

I remember when the Phillies won the WS and how excited everyone was! It was unlike anything I've ever seen before to have an entire city come together like they did so I can only be happy for everyone in San Fran that gets to enjoy such an exciting and memorable time!

Congrats again, you guys won fair and square!

I'm assuming the parade is during school...but if not I will be there! GAAH now I have to write a paper...

Haha I'd believe it, Autumn! The parade wednesday, that we'll most likely be going to - we'll take pics!!

I'm a Phillies fan by heart and a Giants fan by proximity, so it worked out ::)

slg - happy papering  :naughty:

Honestly, skip school if you have to. I ended up skipping my classes that day and it was 100% worth it...its an unexplainable experience.

If I was an undergrad, I would. I can't skip this one. If it was a big lecture class, no question. My class on Wed is a class with 8 people that I missed last week for a doctor's appointment, so gotta be there this week.

Oh gosh :(((( I hope it is an early class and you can get out to go see the parade at some point

ugh I wish. parade is at 11. class is 1-4. brutal. but might go to SF for the evening anyway (I am in the East Bay)

So happy for my city!! Go Giants!

But the rioting was wayyyy over the top. Gotta wonder if many of those were even fans.

:appl: :appl: :appl:

I was outside the ball park last night and it was absolutely unbelievable. So true Autumn, how amazing it is to have the whole city come together. We were all hugging each other and so many people were crying! Our parents have all waited 50+ years for this! We were totally drenched in champagne by the end of it. :cheeky: An experience I will NEVER forget.

Also wanted to stay that the Rangers were a great team to play against and I'm really happy to have seen them in the WS as well. All the Rangers fans I encountered were great sports. :appl:

Agreed---we had ridiculous rioting too and it really got out of hand and I had to wonder if most of the people doing the rioting were fans. Wrecking peoples property.... :nono:

i was a Giant's fan when i was a kid, happy to see them win the WS... :appl:

How would people even get INTO the city right now anyway?? Train and BART I guess. I can't imagine having to drive! And what if you had a meeting there. YIKES!

I'm not a sports fan but it's been impossible to escape the love if you are local...congrats Giants!!! I'm still amazed some of the team looks like they are 12.

Believe it or not...the whole city just kinda....shuts down. In Philly most companies just gave their employees off for the day because it was just impossible to get into the city.

...and the hippies in the east bay probably won't even know what's going on. GAAH I wish I lived in SF sometimes!

It was a ZOO getting into the city! But, I had a meeting in a building right at the start of the parade route! Okay, being 5'2", it was hard to see a lot, but I stuck my hand up, and just shot video on my phone!

I've never lived in a city that's won a major sporting event until now, so this was an awesome event to watch!!!!

I had to do the same thing at our parade hahaha...being 4'11 does have its short comings sometimes ;) Glad you loved it!

How does it not make sense  He got a good contract and stated in interviews that he loved living in Philadelphia and playing for the Phillies.

ESPN:

"Despite, in essence, being traded away by the Phillies in order to acquire Halladay, sources said Lee developed a fondness for his teammates and the city of Philadelphia and would be interested in returning if the Phillies could come up with a package that's competitive with the Yankees and Rangers."
