Before and After Recut Brian Gavin

I really really want to thank you for showing us this transformation and telling us about it. My original engagement stone is .75 H I1 with very strong fluro from 1993. It never occurred to me to send it for recutting, but now I will email them and ask. I worry the I1 (uncertified) might be a deal breaker, but I won't know until I ask.

It is currently set as a pendant but I have noticed that it has large white flashes but not all the time and it doesn't have a whole lot of life to it. I would be willing to lose some weight if it could be improved.

I will look into this now. Again, I appreciate the thread and your diamond's transformation has been incredible and completely worthwhile.

I hope it works out for you. I had no idea if the recut was even possible, but I was thrilled that the diamond was a candidate. Before the recut I was going to set it in a pendant but I never got around to it. I am so happy with the results and happy to be passing it on to one of my sons. I'm travelling so I don't have all the specs on the diamond but will post them when I get back.

Wow, that is a huge change! It looks like it's going to be a fire bomb. :D

Thank you. I sent a message to Leslie through the "contact us" portion of the web page. I haven't heard back yet, which is fine because I know they are slammed and this isn't a Christmas priority. I will pursue it in greater detail after the holidays.

I also asked Melissa at HPD if they recut (they don't) and without knowing specifics, she did indicate recutting an I1 is tricky. Since it is uncertified it coud be worse than I think, ya know, maybe an I2 or 3...

That cost seems reasonable to me, I wouldn't hesitate. The diamond turned out wonderfully!

Amazing makeover!

Amazing, I hope they enjoy it for many years.

Wow! Brian is a magician. I loves posts like these!
