Bixbite!

LD, chrono and everyone else..sorry to say but they are real deal red beryls..Matt is the king of bling when it comes to red beryl..he sells trillons, marquies, rounds, cushions..you name it has has sold it..brownish, rasberry, red, stop light red, orangish..pinkish..many have small micro inclusions of rhyolite which can make them brownish or orangish or add a whitish look..they are only .07..so clean is easy for red beryls of that size..he sold a 1.40ct eyeclean red beryl on ebay about 2 months ago..sold for $2600..an emerald cut stop light red had a funky pavilion and that was cut to get the stone eyeclean..started the 1.40ct at .99 cents on ebay..tell me thats not some balls to gbe able to do that..most of his small stones are clean but they are all .10cts and under..usually .05..I think I have a small baggie around here of the same stones, like hugger, I got from him a long time ago..sent Barbra Voltaire a few and some body else as a gift..lost a couple to..they are very very small at .10 and under..like specks

When I think of bixbite, I think of this color. I just obtained some better photos at the museum the other day, and this is a bixbite ring. All three main red stones are bixbite. I don't know for sure if your stone is bixbite RH, but I thought I would just post the photo for your reference. Even at the museum, this stone is included.

I saw Redbarrel's completed listing, and your photos are much pinker than his. His material does look like real bixbite. However, I'm not a bixbite expert.

you see ..that stone..even at a museum..heck like I sais Matt posted a 1.40ct stop light red, eyeclean, emerald cut for auction at .99 cents..stone was a standard emerald cut on the crown and one side of the pavilion but the other side was cut slightly longer to cut out whatever inclusion was there... at .99 cents starting..no reserve..heck you see that quality stone in museums and he is posting it on ebay for .99 cents..dudes the real deal..if you go to palas web site you will see a red beryl specimen on one of the pages..a strawberries and creme crystal that he sold to them..I think it's one of the largest crystal if not the largest ever found..it was somewhere on there site a few months ago along with other crystals and such..pala got it from him..sad ty thing is as of like a month or two ago he stopped starting all the good stuff at .99 cents..now if you go on ebay you will see some crystals with a "buy it now" price..he never did "buy it now"..those crystals he would have started at .99 cents like everything else but I guess he lately even real good stuff was selling horribly..i mean you could get a $1000 crystal for $200..or a $2000 specimen for $350 or less..he had a buy it now crystal up whenb he started putting that style up that was like $2000 or round about..was a perfect hex..red red red and was clean..sitting on rhyolite..in the ad he said..even though it would cut a world class stone 1ct+ since it was so clean he wouldn't sell it to anyone that would cut it since the crystal was so perfect and worth more that way(although he would never know if they did) he wanted to emphasize the the fact it was worth more as a gem quality crystal and not a piece cuttable rough..someone bought it that week..heck the week before if he did it the old way would have started it at .99 cents..sold it for maybe $500..miss those days..sigh

Hi Guys,

I know its been forever since I posted. Life has been crazy lately.

I will say this about RedBarrels. I have been watching his listings for a long time and over the years, he has listed some absolutely amazing stuff. I would love to get into his house for about 10 minutes. Based on the stuff he has listed, I can't even begin to imagine the quality of some of his finest bixbites.
