I bought the San Patrick Recova off of ebay for a cool $300. I didn''t have a chance to try it on beforehand, since none of the local salons carried it, but it fits nearly perfectly and I really really like it! I even went to try on dresses today, and found I didn''t like any of them as much as I liked this one. The fabric has a very subtle metallic sheen and it gives me a butt! Hurrah!

Only thing is, friends and family are divided as to whether it looks better with straps or without. I felt a little matron-ly with the straps, so I was considering taking it to a seamstress and taking them off.

And what are you ladies with short hair doing for your wedding? I''m planning for late April ''09, so I''ve got some time. Right now, I have a semi-edgy haircut - short, with asymetrical bangs and one side longer than the other. I''ll have to ask my hairdresser next time I go in, but I''m utterly clueless.

So which do you think looks better? I know I can trust the wise opinion of you ladies here on pricescope. With straps, or without?

I vote no straps. For some reasont the dress looks ''fancier'' to me with no straps. You have a lovely neckline/shoulders etc too. Don''t cover them up!

I know that it doesn''t help but I like both!
You look stunning both ways and since you can carry over the strapless ... I vote strapless!
Congrats on finding a beautiful dress that you love!

Such a beautiful dress! I think "no straps" looks more wedding-dressy to me for some reason.

i second this.
I third it.

I actually prefer the straps. May I say, you have quite a body!

I like both...which is totally not helpful! You look really lovely in the dress, both ways. I think if I had to choose, I prefer it with straps. I know how I personally feel wearing strapless things, so I think that''s why straps have an edge for me. However, I do agree that a dress without straps seems slightly more "wedding" than with.

Sorry for being unhelpful! Good luck!

I think you can pull that dress off either way! It looks fantastic on you, but I also think strapless has a classier look to it, and with straps looks a little less dressy to me.

No straps for sure! ETA that the dress looks great on you!

And your hair looks totally cute! I'm on a hair growing out mission so I don't have that fun of a haircut right now...but I love a good asymmetrical and/or edgy haircut!

No Straps!!!

It looks beautiful on you and what a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No straps. I like strapped dresses, but these particular ones have too much fabric on them for your small frame. You''re a hottie!

I also vote for no straps! I love the look of the straps from the back (pretty v-shape), but I don''t love them as much from the front view. I think the strapless is just perrrrrfect from the front AND back though!

That dress is a STUNNER! I looove it and you must be thrilled with the deal you got! Awesome work!

No straps! Those straps look like they''re for a more buxom woman and no offense, but your tatas can handle no straps just fine!

I think the straps cut the lines of the dress and create confusion in the front. There''s mainly horizontal lines and then the straps pop out of nowhere, diverting the eye upwards. Dont like em. Dont need em!

I normally am pro-strap, but I like your dress strapless better. I think your hair would look amazing with a big flower or feathery clip on the shorter side of your haircut- or maybe a birdcage veil?

Although you look great in both, I vote for no straps.

this is probably a useless vote since it seems unamunious but i vote NO straps. the back with straps looks nice but i think in the front it just makes you look too old.

No straps here! That is a gorgeous dress and it looks stunning on you!!

I love the look of no straps but while dancing you may be pulling your dress up. Ceremony no straps, Reception add the straps.

Just a thought!

I love it with no straps. I think that the straps at the front cover up too much and they''re too thick.

NO STRAPS!!! You have such a petite figure and I don''t think the straps are in proportion to your size, so unless you could have a seamstress make them "thinner", but you don''t seem to keen on them anyhow. They seem to overwhelm you a bit and take away from the dress.

I love that dress, the color is beautiful and you just look smashing... and $300!!! WOW

well I am going against the popular opinion here. Although, you really can''t go wrong either way. It will boil down to personal preference.

I think the straps are beautiful I love the lace fabric that they are made from and that blends picks up the same lace fabric that looks to be scattered in other areas of your dress as well as the bust area if I am seeing it correctly on my screen anyway. I love how there is fabric in between the straps in the front and how they go up over your shoulders and down the back.

A great undergarment can help with the not so buxom part.

The back as well looks so beautiful with the lacy straps going up your back and over your great shoulders. As well as picking up that same lace going acrossed your back at your waist. Just beautiful in my opinion.

You look beautiful in it either way though. Just my vision of it!

Wow what a find!!! I can''t believe how perfectly this dress fits you with never having tried it on. I do like the dress both ways, but am leaning toward no straps. That said, I have similar broad shoulders and I think the most flattering would be if the straps could be converted to some type of halter, especially with that silhouette. The lace is so pretty it is a shame to cut it off. In any case, great dress.

Without straps...its beautiful on you!

You look stunning in both versions but I would have to say no straps wins out. Beautiful dress - you rock it so well!

Okay, I'm in the minority here. . . but, I vote for the straps. It gives the dress an Edwardian feel, and makes it different and unique among a veritable 'sea of strapless'. I also think they give the dress balance.

Personally, I never understood the whole strapless craze. Very few people can carry it off, I don't care how pretty the dress is. You can, but, I like the uniqueness and vintage feel of the straps.
